Molveno Wealth Planning

Molveno Wealth Planning is a forward thinking independent financial advice firm that was set up to make financial advice more accessible, more interactive and more life changing for more people. Why are we different to other Financial Advice businesses? 1. We are fully independent and always will be. This means that we are completely unbiased and can access the whole of the market. 2. We do both Financial Advice and Financial Planning, because you shouldn’t be investing without having a proper plan in place. 3. Our fees are fair and affordable. For example, the ongoing cost for our clients (Including third party charges) is around 1.2% for most people compared to the reported industry average of 1.9%. Our initial fees are based on how complex the advice is, not how much money you’ve got! 4. We are efficient and tech enabled, setting us and you up for decades to come. 5. We hold the ‘Gold Standard’ qualification in the profession, Chartered Financial Planner. 6. Our initial calls and ‘discovery’ meeting are always completely free and with no obligation. 7. We can offer a range of options for people who would like to invest in a more sustainable way. 8. We advise people and families, not pots of money. Everyone is different, we respect that and we do not judge. 9. We also offer a subscription option for people who are less established financially and would normally not be able to access financial advice. 10. We have a fresh modern approach, we are up to date with our knowledge, understand the world of today, are not 'salesy' and aren’t planning on retiring before you do!

What do you love most about your job?

Helping people plan for their future and manage their life savings properly is a big responsibility and a real privilege. There aren't many jobs where you can really play a part in people achieving what they want in life, I'm lucky to have one of them!

It is massively satisfying giving people the confidence to make big decisions like retiring earlier or doubling their holiday plans. It’s equally satisfying helping people in a bit of a mess or in tough times (Following a divorce for example) re-set and get their finances back on track.

Money can be incredibly stressful and I can feel the relief leave the room when I go through financial plans with clients and show them that there are going to be 'OK' financially whatever happens. It is really important to me that my clients look back on their life in the future without regrets and it plays a big part in the advice that I give and the work I do.

Before I had even heard of ‘Financial Advice’, I was a (slightly strange) child who would work out compound interest on my savings books and spend hours researching investments when I was just 16, so when you combine this with my desire to help people I feel very lucky that I found the perfect job for me.

What inspired you to start your own business?

Building a modern, accessible and forward thinking Independent Financial Advice firm has been an ambition of mine since I moved into the industry.

Having observed several financial advice businesses over the years and learned directly from their leaders, I realised that the only way I could deliver the service I wanted to at a fair affordable cost was to start my own business. Most financial advice firms are either restricted (eg. can only recommend certain companies) or their service and processes are designed based on what is best for them, not their clients. The average age of a Financial Adviser in the UK is 57 and there aren’t enough businesses owned or led by people like me who will be in the profession helping people for the next 25-30 years.

At 28, I walked away from a nice salary to start Molveno Wealth Planning and have loved every day since. I am now able to do more for people, truly give a personalised service, work with a greater variety of people and charge fees that are fair and affordable for people.

Why should our clients choose you?

Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Yes, we can provide our normal services entirely remotely. We use Microsoft Teams for video calls as well as DocuSign and a secure online client portal.

Alternatively, we can work on a hybrid basis or solely in person depending on location.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?

If someone wasn't comfortable meeting in person due to feeling unsafe (Covid-19 or otherwise) that is absolutely fine. We would not insist on meeting face to face and would be able to provide our services entirely on a remote basis if needed.
