Our mother, who was fiercely independent, had lived successfully on her own since our father died 44 years ago. She was surrounded by great neighbours, friends and family. However, at the glorious age of 88, she was becoming extremely frail, had lost most of her sight and her health was degenerating quickly due to lung fibrosis. After one particular relapse, she became bed ridden and it became clear that the existing support network was no longer capable of keeping her safe or attending to her health and general care needs. We were at a loss of what to do, our Mother clearly did not want to go into hospital but wanted to spend the rest of her days with the family and friends she loved in her own home, looking out over her own garden. We felt we were about to fail her when she needed us most !We quickly reviewed what health care providers could help our complex and urgent needs - Thank goodness we then met Wendy, our local area Helping Hands manager. We were like rabbits in the headlights, but Wendy had seen it all before and brought a calm, professional and efficient review of our needs and was able to answer the dozens of questions we had (sorry Wendy).Having reviewed how serious and urgent how plight was, we were offered a 24hr, in house, experienced carer who arrived unbelievably two days later !Our carer (I'm not sure I should mention her name) was amazing - she formed a fantastic bond with our mother. Not only did she look after our mothers general care and ensure that medication was taken as prescribed but our mother was treated with great dignity. She became the rock we were able to build our mothers life around so she could enjoy the comforts of her own home in her final months. We will never be able to thank LB enough. There were many times over the six months that we were being helped, where we had a query or wanted something checked, the responses were always fast and efficient and no query seemed to be too much trouble. I would highly recommend the team and service Helping Hands provide - they certainly helped us, help our mother, at the time of her greatest need.

I am a newly started up dog walking business. I have much experience with dogs having handled them and trained them for years. I currently own a whippet, which I absolutely adore. I am offering daily, weekly or random ad hoc walks for your beloved fur babies. I am also offering home visits for those who don’t want their dogs walked but just to play or let out for a toilet visit.

To best describe Jo, I would say she absolutely loves dogs.
Loves the out doors and long walks, rain or shine.
Is very reliable and on time.
She cares about the happiness, health and diet of her own dog and her previous dog was the best obedient and well trained dog I have every come across.
All of these qualities would ensure that your own dog gets the best care and exercise and whilst your at work, you can be assured that your dog is having a great time.
Highly recommend.

How much does a Dog Walker cost?
The price of hiring a dog walker will depend on the area of the UK in which you live, with prices typically higher in the South of England and particularly in London. The cost of hiring a dog walker will often be lower in the North of England and in Scotland and Wales.
What should I look for in a Dog Walker?
The most important thing when you’re hiring a dog walker is that both you and your dog trust them. You should also ensure that your dog walker has public liability insurance that covers them in case of damage, accident or loss. The best way to find a reliable and trustworthy dog walker is by reading reviews of previous clients. When you hire a dog walker through Bark, you can browse the profiles of dog walkers in your local area and read honest reviews from genuine customers.
How many dogs can a Dog Walker walk at once?
It is recommended that a dog walker should walk a maximum of four dogs at a time, to enable them to maintain good control of each dog. Most dog walkers will give you the option of having your dog walked alone or with other dogs. Walking with other dogs will help your dog to develop valuable social skills. However, if your dog is reactive, you may prefer for them to be walked alone.
