Many thank to Wolds Taxis for taking us from horncastle to market rasen races and then back home later in the evening. Grudging and completely unreliable communication by the owner. I decided to cancel my taxi to a hospital, booked more than a month in advance, at a cost of £135, because I do not feel I can depend on these people to arrange to get me to hospital on time as planned, on operation day. Regardless of the owner's PR-spin responses, the problem was compounded by a litany of errors too. I had cancelled my hospital trip with Wolds Travel a full day before the owner's response below. Taxi driver Jamie arrived 15-20 minutes late to pick us up in Trusthorpe to take us to feeder coach in Mablethorpe for wkend away. He blamed roadworks for the hold up which were non existant as we returned the same way on feeder coach. Therefore in my eyes he is unreliable and a liar, as the tracker post in my messages showed him leaving Louth at 7.20am, should have picked us up at 7.30am. No way could he do it in 10 minutes. However the feeder coach driver from Mablethorpe to Brigg(who was also run by yourselves, and the return driver on Sunday (from Brigg) who had filled in for someone, at short notice, were just as different. Genuine review reposted due to owners deleting my previous review about their unprofessional and poor service.Do not be fooled by a 3. 2 mile journey costing £16.20 because the driver needs to 'make a living' by taking the 'long way round' thinking his passengers do not know the area, when they've had a property in the area for the last 7 years.Here's the original post:Disappointing and Overpriced ExperienceI booked a taxi over the phone for Sea Lane, Huttoft (near Roman Bank), and confirmed the destination with the driver upon entering the car. However, the driver proceeded to drive past our turn and headed towards a petrol station instead. When I asked where he was going, he ignored me. I had to insist that he was going the wrong way before he finally turned around.If you’re relying on visitors not knowing the area to inflate fares, that’s a poor business practice. We recently used Wolds Travel for airport transfers to and from East Midlands airport. I highly recommend them, they were on time and keep you informed along the way. Our return flight was delayed four hours, due to mount etna errupting, they made sure we all got home. Our driver, Lisa, was excellent. she knew exactly where to go when we ran into a road closure. Fabulous company. We arranged for a transport to and from Manchester airport for our adult daughter living in Louth; this was a reunion trip for her to meet her brother in Finland after not seeing him for four years! Both trips went seamlessly; the returning flight was slightly delayed but the driver, Lisa, waited for her with no issues. The owners & employees of the company are very professional & courteous; any communication via email or phone was very polite and timely.
