Dramatic entrance.....
I contacted UK migration lawyers because I obviously needed help & was unsure what to do after another leading immigration solicitor told me I didn't qualify.
I spoke to Aisha who was amazing & she passed me across to Emma to handle the application.
Emma is down to earth straight forward and calmed my anxiety no matter what. When I was losing my brain she kept calm reassured me in her strange way.... And maintained the vibe that it was perfectly fine & I was being dramatic.
Turns out I was being dramatic as usual because I had my oath ceremony a couple of weeks ago, washed my hair for my passport photo. .... I am now a holder of a shiny new Blue passport and this is all thanks to Emma..... She is now dragging my daughter across the line to her citizenship as well I may add.....
Dramatic exit with joy and my passport.

Laureine Roche-Mani submitted my Finnish wife’s spousal visa for us to remain in the UK with our newborn post her university studies in Cardiff. The depth of case Laureine created in favour of our approval was incredible. She assured submission wouldn’t occur without certainty of approval and today my partners visa was approved. Weight has been lifted from our shoulders and we’re immensely grateful. We’ve now mapped out the plan for the second submission 2ish years from now. I cannot stress enough how appallingly bad this immigration solicitor firm is. From the very first interaction, their lack of professionalism, disorganization, and outright negligence was evident and it only got worse. What should have been a straightforward process turned into an absolute nightmare because of their sheer incompetence. The reception and caseworkers were dismissive, condescending, and outright rude whenever I tried to get updates or clarification. Phone calls went unanswered for weeks, emails were ignored, and when I finally got through, I was met with impatience and unhelpful attitudes. It felt like I was bothering them just by asking about my own case. They repeatedly lost documents, missed critical deadlines, and gave me incorrect advice that nearly jeopardized my entire application. Important paperwork was filed late, and when errors were pointed out, they tried to blame me for their mistakes. There was no accountability just excuses and deflection. Because of their negligence, my case was delayed by months, forcing me to pay for additional fees and last-minute corrections. The stress and anxiety they caused were unbearable. What should have been a smooth process became a bureaucratic disaster all because this firm couldn’t do the bare minimum. More...

Q&As

Helping families navigate the UK’s increasingly complex and often daunting immigration rules. Over the years, these rules have become more intricate, making it harder for people to go it alone. I take pride in guiding each client with a tailored, holistic approach—always working firmly within the law, but with genuine care and determination to achieve the best possible outcome. Some of the most rewarding moments are when we cross paths with people we assisted years ago, who came to the UK to begin a new chapter and are now happily settled, raising British children, and enjoying their new life.

I have always been a committed advocate for human rights, equality, and justice. I wanted to build a firm where every solicitor shared those values, and where every client felt fully supported through what can often be one of the most stressful experiences of their lives. UK Migration Lawyers exists to provide not only expert legal advice, but also reassurance, clarity, and compassion at a time when clients need it most.

Because we understand what’s at stake. Immigration is never just about paperwork - it’s about keeping families together, protecting livelihoods, and securing futures. We bring expertise, empathy, and relentless commitment to every case, treating each client’s goal as if it were our own.

Absolutely. Many of our clients live overseas or far from our offices, so we regularly work via secure video calls, phone consultations, and email. Whether you’re in the UK or abroad, you’ll receive the same attentive, high-quality service as you would in person - without the need to travel.

Now that Covid-19 isn't the problem it once was, we have relaxed our approach but we still offer facemasks and hand sanitiser to those who visit our offices and our staff will happily wear a mask upon request. We try to accommodate all requests to make visiting our offices the best experience it can be for all of our clients.

For UK employers faced with skills and talent shortages, hiring from overseas has become critical to meeting talent and workforce needs. In most cases, you’ll need a Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence to be able to lawfully recruit skilled workers.

Given the organisational the investment required to secure a sponsor licence, it makes sense to approach your application with a solid understanding of what the Home Office is looking for and what the application process involves.

The Scale Up Sponsor Licence is only open to “high growth” companies, and proving you meet this criteria is complex. The Home Office relies heavily on automated eligibility checks, directly accessing HMRC data and systems, with no allowance for manual narratives. If your records are not accurate, you risk an instant licence refusal. This is time and expense you will want to avoid losing.
A scale up sponsor is an organisation classed as being in a sustained period of high growth and approved by the UK Home Office to recruit overseas nationals to work in the UK in highly skilled job roles.

When it comes to which organisations are eligible to apply for a scale up sponsor licence to recruit skilled migrant workers under this route, all applicants must meet the definition of a ‘qualifying scale up sponsor’.

The UK Expansion Worker Visa allows overseas companies to deploy key personnel to the UK to set up operations and expand their business. The route is aimed at overseas companies without a trading presence in the UK that require senior personnel to establish their business in the UK. The Expansion Worker visa requirements are strict, and apply to both the worker and the overseas entity.

The UK’s High Potential Individual visa is open to graduates of top global universities to come to the UK for work, without needing sponsorship or a job offer.

While it holds appeal among graduates and employers alike for being one of the more flexible UK work visas, both parties will need to be aware of what this route actually involves. Evidencing eligibility remains a sticking point, given the Home Office’s increasingly tough scrutiny of work visa applications, as does planning for what happens at the end of this short-term visa.

The UK Spouse Visa is a key immigration route under the Family Migration provisions of Appendix FM of the UK Immigration Rules. It allows the non-UK partner of a British citizen or a person settled in the UK to join or remain with their partner in the UK on the basis of their relationship. The visa grants the holder the right to live, work, and study in the UK, eventually leading to settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain) after five years, provided all eligibility criteria continue to be met.

For UK sponsors and applicants alike, understanding the legal framework of the spouse visa is crucial. It is not an automatic right but a discretionary permission based on strict eligibility requirements relating to the genuineness of the relationship, financial stability, and accommodation. The Home Office assesses whether the applicant and sponsor meet these requirements before granting permission to enter or remain in the UK.

A parent of a British child can potentially obtain a UK Parent visa, allowing them to live in the UK with their child, if specific requirements are met. This visa route is for parents who are not married to or in a relationship with the child's other parent (if the child has another parent) and therefore cannot qualify for a spouse or partner visa

The Student visa, part of the UK's Student Route, allows individuals aged 16 and over to study in the UK on courses longer than six months. To be eligible, applicants must have an unconditional offer from a licensed student sponsor, demonstrate sufficient funds for tuition and living costs, and prove English language proficiency.

A route to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) (settlement) for those who have lived in the UK lawfully for at least 10 years. The 10-year period can be a combination of time spent on various UK visas or immigration routes, with some exceptions. Absences from the UK during this period are permitted, but are subject to specific rules regarding duration and timing.

A pre-action protocol (PAP) is a set of rules and guidelines that parties involved in a potential legal dispute are expected to follow before starting formal court proceedings. These protocols aim to encourage the early exchange of information, potentially leading to a settlement and avoiding unnecessary litigation. They outline steps like disclosing relevant information, investigating the claim, and considering alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods.

Administrative Review (AR) is a process for challenging certain UK immigration decisions, particularly those involving visa refusals, where a Home Office decision-making error is suspected. It's an internal review conducted by the Home Office, distinct from an appeal to an independent tribunal. If you believe a Home Office caseworker made an error in your case, you can apply for AR, but it's only available for specific eligible decisions.
