Reliable, professional service from enquiry through to installation and post installation for our project to install solar panels, battery and inverter. The installation team did a very neat job and the system is working brilliantly even in cloudy conditions. We had a 1970s house with cavity walls that had never been insulated. The house would heat up quick, but cool down quicker. Thermohome we're the only company that helped us work out what insulation was best and explain why. Pleased with the service provided: 6kW solar array, 6kWh batteries, SolarVenti heater, improved loft insulation, and lots of consultation. ## Flexible and comprehensive solutions Morten and Jason definitely listened to our goals and made tailored suggestions for us. It was great to work with people who could picture all the pieces - generation, storage, heating, etc - and how they would fit together. We have installed / will install several pieces of technology we had not heard of before! ## Experience and time for hire 👍 Making a house sustainable involves a lot of 'moving parts' - selecting components, arranging tradespeople, correct installation, paperwork, many more... It would have taken all our free time, and patience, to arrange this ourselves, so having Thermohome to take care of everything was a dream come true. ## Fast Thermohome got in touch quickly, and regularly. The turnaround from first contact was less than 3 months. We were advised which work was best to get done soon due to demand - solar panels - allowing other work to wait. ## Installation Everyone involved clearly had a lot of pride in their work. Fixings are either well hidden, or carefully placed for a pleasing aesthetic. All feels solid and is working as advertised. ## Needed more guidance Having no experience ourselves, here are some areas that were difficult because Thermohome either didn't have the information, or didn't communicate it: - Maximising sustainability, rather than return-on-investment. TP did their best to adapt from their default suggestions but it felt like they had less experience coming from this angle. E.g. when to charge batteries, redirecting excess solar. - Being at home. Challenging for us to arrange on short notice, causing difficulties with: deliveries on unspecified days, work of unknown duration, weather dependent work. We could have coped better with more warning. - Storage ahead of installation. Our driveway was the only practical drop-off for the 500kg of expensive equipment, but was not a secure location, so we spent several unexpected hours clearing space indoors then transferring. As novices we did not know to plan for this. - Checking for wildlife. A chance conversation with an ecologist revealed this is regularly forgotten in permitted roof developments like ours. It is unfortunate to think that we can never know whether our work may have disturbed something. Would have happily arranged for a cursory survey had we thought of it; would be great if the industry were more mindful of such things. Contacted them about a solar installation. They initially contacted us to conduct a desk top survey to show the viability for us to have a solar system, providing us with plenty of facts and figures. They then visited us and conducted a very thorough survey of our property, where the panels, wiring, inverter and battery would go. The installation itself ran like clockwork with the scaffold and system installers arriving when they were scheduled. They worked quickly and efficiently and left leaving no trace. The quote from ThermoProtect for my 8KW PV and 12KW battery was unbelievably competitive I took quotes from ten other companies and ThermoProtect was by a long way the best price. I paid the deposit and the panels were delivered a few days later. The installation team was smart and professional and the work was completed in one day. There was a problem with one battery and an electrician came back to sort this out promptly and replaced the internet cable. Unfortunately, the company did not register the system with the DNO correctly and after many months of waiting, I contacted the DNO myself and was told that they had no record of my systems commissioning. I informed Morton at Thermo Protect of what the DNO said and the next day he sorted all of the paperwork out correctly and the DNO sent out the letter by lunchtime. Solar Panel Installation
We used Thermoprotect for the installation of solar panels and batteries. We were given various option with full explanation's on each.
Eventually we opted for the higher grade solar panels and batteries with invertor. The installation went ahead and was completed just over the estimated time due to really bad weather, not there fault. Yes there were a few issues but nothing you wouldn't expect or that couldn't be resolved. The electrician doing the installation was excellent, so tidy and obsessive about the work being done to a high standard. Once up and running we have seen an incredible saving on our energy bill, sun or no sun.

What inspired you to start your own business?
With the rise in energy costs along with our global responsibility to reduce carbon emissions, it seemed a great idea to start an insulation business. When ThermoProtect was formed 7 years ago, we never imagined that our solutions would become so widely used across the UK.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We are reducing our customers exposure to unnecessary home visits during the quote stage by offering a remote survey and quote. Only once you’re ready to proceed with an install will we send a representative to your house and this is all whilst maintaining social distancing along with various other safety precautions to help keep you safe.
Loft Insulation
If you have little or no insulation on the floor of your loft, we can help you to meet modern standards with a 270-300mm layer of fibre-based insulation. This process is fast and simple, helping you to retain some of the heat in your home.
To maintain effectiveness, fibre-based insulation generally requires topping up or replacing every 5-10 years.
Pitched Roof Insulation
Pitched roof insulation is thought to be one of the most effective ways to equalise the temperature in your home. We install spray foam insulation between the roof rafters to help eliminate heat loss in the winter and stop solar gain during the summer.
This is a lifelong solution that will never require topping up, changing or replacing and comes with a 25-year installers warranty and 10-year insurance backed guarantee.
Underfloor Insulation
If you have a void or crawlspace below your floor, it's likely you will suffer the effects of cold and uncomfortable draughts during winter months. Our installation team can access your underfloor void and spray-apply ThermoFoam to the underside of your floor boards, between joists. This process provides an airtight seal of your floor, banishing those cold draughts and allowing you to live comfortably in your home.
Cavity Wall Insulation
We provide two types of cavity wall insulation to suit your budget. Our ThermoBead systems are blown into your cavity wall and provide a safe, thermally efficient way to protect your walls from heat loss. Our ThermoFoam cavity wall injection insulation is the most thermally effective way to protect your home from heat loss.
Solar PV
If you are looking to take control of your energy generation whilst saving money on electricity, Solar PV could be a great fit for you. We are independent of any system or manufacturer which means we can source and install PV that fits different budgets. With the added benefit of solar energy storage batteries, our systems can reduce your reliance on the grid and help you to manage the extremities of energy price rises.
Ventilation
Our ventilation systems vary between whole house systems to single room products that help to implement fresh, filtered air whilst extracting any stale and moist air from your home. With a specific focus on energy conservation, our systems are solar driven or have a heat recovery element that makes for minimal running costs. Ventilation can help to control the impacts of damp and moisture forming within your home whilst reducing pollutants, allergen and airborne viruses
