After posting online with some information related to unpaid invoices with a central collections site, I was approached buy various professionals who came back with options how to get the ball rolling.
I chose Cpa to deal with the matter as the initial meeting was at the place work, This company operates nationwide with friendly agents who certainly know their business. everything was explained how to deal with the case and Also importantly the costs. Within a week Pre legal Documents were sent to the debtor. Still in early stages of the file gut instincts tell me that the matter will be resolved soon.

Received a letter stating that we owe £174.72 for late payment on invoices from 5 years ago. On investigation the 4 invoices quoted, the due dates were wrong on one of them, the invoice numbers were wrong on two of them, the amounts were wrong on three of them and payment dates were wrong on all of them.
We were on PRO FORMA so don't see how we could pay late!
Contacted Acopia the company who they were supposed working for and they told me to ignore it.
Looks like they are just trying it on - CHECK YOUR FACTS!

It is true that we were not able to collect the old debts that you passed to us but of the 84 debts you passed to us - we collected payment in full on 51 of the debts and otherwise resolved 11 other accounts. taking into account the recoveries made and excluding the older debts, as was explained to you, you did not qualify for a refund under the guarantee. You also will be aware that we agreed to allow you to terminate the agreement despite the fact that you did not give proper notice and we cancelled the renewal subscription. Nearly 5 years ago we issued a cheque insettlement of a debt of £36 within the terms of our contract. Our creditor delayed banking that cheque for 12 days. In December 2018 CPA wrote to demand payment of 11p interest plus £40 compensation. There is no debt and the relationship with our supplier is damaged by the actions of CPA. This business is nothing but a scam!!! We signed up to them as they promised us a 'money back guarantee' where if they did not reclaim 10 times the joining fee (£1330) of money owed to our business, then we would receive the joining fee back after 1 year. We signed the agreement after asking numerous times if there were any clauses or exceptions to this agreement which we were told there wasn't. Once we had the agreement I then noticed the teeny tiny small print on the reverse which made our business an exception to the money back guarantee. I cancelled the agreement think I was covered by the consumer credit act 2 week cooling off period to which they responded this doesn't apply as I signed 'COMMERCIAL CREDIT AGREEMENT'! The Credit Protection Association Plc started in 1914 and has had 100,000s of commercial clients over the years, many for many decades. Clearly there was a breakdown in our relationship very early on however the circumstances described are fairly unique. I did find a case similar to the one you describe, shortly before your post although I can find no "T Smith" involved". Overdue Account Reminders
A series of polite but well crafted letters that provide an average success rate of over 80% with all payments made directly to our Clients by their customers.
Goodwill is retained and trade usually continues without either party referring to the matter again.
Litigation to recover the debt
