We honestly cannot thank Suzie from Celebrants Scotland enough. She stepped in at the very last minute when our original celebrant was no longer able to do our ceremony, and from the very first conversation she immediately put us at ease.
She reassured us, calmed any worries we had, and made what could have been a stressful situation feel completely manageable.
Despite the short amount of time before the wedding, Suzie made such a genuine effort to get to know us. She was always available if we wanted a chat or had questions, and she was incredibly generous in letting us get to know her too. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and we truly felt her care, kindness and consideration throughout the whole process.
On the wedding day itself, Suzie was there for both of us - offering quiet support, calming nerves, and doing an amazing job of warming up our guests before the ceremony. The ceremony flowed so seamlessly that it honestly felt like she’d known us for years. She delivered it with such ease and confidence, and afterwards so many of our guests commented on how beautiful it was and how perfectly it captured us and our story as a couple. Her warmth and kindness just radiated, and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for more.
What makes Suzie even more special is that her support didn’t stop after the wedding. Nearly a year on, she has kept in touch with us - checking in, reminding us of that incredible day, and sharing lovely moments like letting us know where our tree was planted as part of Celebrants Scotland’s tree-planting initiative for 2025 ceremonies. It has meant so much to us and shows just how much she truly cares.
We are beyond grateful that Suzie was our celebrant and couldn’t recommend her more highly. Thank you, Suzie, for everything you did (and continue to do!) for us as a married couple 💛

Where do we start? Myself and my other half were excited to be getting married but life took over, things were busy between renovations and raising a little one, we were just looking for someone to marry us and by absolute luck we came across Suzie the Celebrant.
She was so genuine and bubbly from our first meeting and made us feel completely as ease. She kept us on track for the legal side and the dates we had to have things done by which was a very welcome reminder.
Suzie wrote the most beautiful and personal vows and followed our wishes of a casual ceremony that showed the very best of our love story, the highs and lows, the crazy and the funny and made a lovely reference to those who couldn't be there with us. We didn't realise just how much having the right person do your ceremony could set up the atmosphere for the day. While she absolutely got the party started there was also not a dry eye in the barn! The perfect mixture.

We had the most fantastic time with Suzie as our celebrant. We came in with the ask of a Scottish traditional wedding blessing with a witchy alternative flair to it.
Suzie was an instant hit with me and my now husband as her bubbly and enthusiastic personality instantly won us over. She listened attentively to our mad hatter ideas and crafted a beautiful, personal ceremony our of all our stories. She guided us and held our hands through every step and was our personal hype-woman in the build up with keeping cheery messages coming into the group chat that was set up.
She set the tone for the start of our celebration and what a celebration it turned out to be!! So grateful to Suzie for all her hardwork and for making our blessing ceremony perfect.

A chat over lunch about pretirement plans and my ongoing huff and never being a bridesmaid has changed my life and I will never get over the fact I was able to marry you both. I knew Suzie would be brilliant at Weddings, which she had proved in the ones she has carried out, her care, humour, enthusiasm and love for love make her perfect for them, and when I finally get round to doing it, I wouldn’t want any anybody else. What do you love most about your job?
I love love! And I love working with couples who are in love. It is a real privilege to get to tell their family and friends all about their love story through the ceremony I create for them. Every ceremony is completely bespoke and reflects the couple and their life together
What inspired you to start your own business?
After over 30 years as a nurse I took early retirement in 2024 to focus on living and enjoying life. As a still young 52 year old I decided retired made me sound like I was about a million years old so instead I referred to myself as pretired and funemployed. Being a celebrant was in my plans after a gap year to do nothing after a very busy career however my amazing young cousin asked me to be her celebrant and this brought all my plans forward. Fast forward a few months and I've undertaken 3 different lots of training to make sure I'm full equipped to be the best celebrant my clients could want. I am so excited for my fantastic new career

I love love.....I think I mentioned that before but it is true. I love love so much I have married my wife twice! I also love fun and I'm known for my sense of humour having written and performed some stand up in the past. I've had extensive experience public speaking over the years with large conferences, presentations and even in front of Parliament. Having been a nurse for 34 years I also love working with people. I'm easy to talk to and get on with everyone so I'm perfect for calming any wedding day nerves. All those years as a nurse also means I'm professional and reliable and you know that I will deliver the service that we have agreed on

I normally do the first chat with a couple over Teams but after that I love to meet you in person as we get to know each other and I start to create your ceremony. For couples overseas but who are coming to Scotland to get married I can do everything needed on Teams until you arrive for your wedding

As a funeral celebrant, it is an incredible privilege to honour and celebrate the lives of those who have passed, by creating a personalised and meaningful ceremony. I work closely with families to understand the life and values of their loved one, ensuring each service is a true reflection of their legacy.
My goal is to honour and celebrate the life of the deceased and provide compassionate support to the bereaved, helping them find a path through their grief and towards healing

In addition to weddings and funerals I also offer vow renewals, baby naming ceremonies, coming out celebrations, and am open to discussing any significant milestones you wish to commemorate.
