Studio Cerath is an architects practice and artist studio in Brighton & Hove.
Blending three core elements of architecture, art and nature, Studio Cerath explores a creative process rooted in the earth and emotional experience. The studio works personally with clients to create sustainable, grounded and calmly expressive designs for home extensions, new homes and other architectural projects throughout Sussex and the UK, as well as producing decorative ceramics.

What do you love most about your job?
I love working closely with my clients to know their lifestyles, tastes and their dreams for their home, and combining these with my own skills and design sensibilities.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After leaving my role as Senior Urban Design Officer at Brighton & Hove City Council, I wanted to get back to a smaller, more intimate architectural practice - one that focuses on knowing my clients well, and one where I can fully develop and realise my own creative process.

I prefer to visit the home or site I am working with to understand it better, and to see and feel how things like daylight and neighbouring buildings may impact on the project. However, I can offer remote services for smaller, less complex projects.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
All of our meetings can be undertaken at a safe distance with masks if required.
