Good first impression with Shea - seemed to have a lot of knowledge and was patient in explaining items required for my garden. I contracted Shea to mulch out a couple of borders for my front and rear garden. He also scarcified and overseeded my front lawn anf planted an olive tree. Unfortunately, the olive tree he planted was smaller than what was agreed so I had to buy one myself which he then planted. The front lawn ended up with so many weeds it's not even a lawn anymore. It transpires that Autumn is the right time to have done it and not spring - not something Shea was aware of as he didn't tell me. All the areas Shea mulched has grass growing now and the best advise he had was to hand pull out the grass or remove all the mulch and then remove the grass. I also have lots of brambles growing which has started to take over the garden. Overall, not happy at all. I paid Shea to reduce my workload for gardening and have a low maintenance garden but I have ended up with quite the opposite. She is friendly and easy to get along with but I haven't seen positive results. I was also unhappy with the scope/price discrepancy as I felt he didn't do a lot of what was agreed to verbally. Hi Rishi, Thank you for your somewhat accurate review of the works package completed for you; yes, during your free consultation I have your a lot of free advice on your garden, as I do with all my clients :) You forgot to mention that most of the work during that project was hedge reduction and cleanup and digging new beds front and back, and planting of climbing plants in addition to the olive - which after you were unhappy with the size of the olive (1 foot difference), I explained that it wasn't in your limited project budget (I did my best to work with) to buy a larger olive locally,, but also advised I was happy to to come back out and swap it out for free if you wanted to order a slightly larger one, which I did. The front lawn (there wasn't much lawn at all, just moss and weeds) work indeed wasn't the best time for it, which was advised along with the recommended works to the rear lawn, (I can understand how your might have forgotten, as I gave you so much information during our consultation - but you were trying to get as much done on your budget as possible and I was trying to accommodate as best I could - for the amount of extra work it took to have weed, scarify, aerate, topdress and overseed far outweighed the original gate post I was supposed to be removing for that part of the payment - I probably should have told you I just couldn't do it for that price, my apologies - you will find that the grass that's there has markedly improved, and with regular cutting and seasonal weed killer should help increase grass density. Indeed, bark mulch is a low maintenance control option, but not no maintenance as no garden is - you'll find brambles and grass are tough, and we removed as many as we could find during your yearly clearance works, but it will have kept away the masses of perennial weeds! I'm sorry you're not happy with a couple of bits on your periodic garden clearance and planting and mulch job, as most clients are - it is however almost impossible to make a large neglected garden completely low maintenance in one visit - and to be honest, my biggest concern was getting your beds dug correctly, and plants planted correctly with the correct positioning and amendments, as they were your largest investment on the job. I absolutely covered every job on your large list, within your budget and timetable. I did already explain all of this to you by text.. you're more than welcome to leave any review you like, but do please ensure you have the facts straight. I hope the clematis, honeysuckle and jasmine planting scheme is looking good at the front (as you said you couldn't afford to replace the fence in your current budget, we owned these there to take over the fence and make it attractive economically, no?), make sure to keep them and the olive trees well watered this first year in the summer! Take care, Rishi

Shea is very knowledgeable about woodwork outdoors (he re-did our outside decking) and worked very hard to get it done in 2 days and to a high standard. He was also very approachable and communicated well at every stage of the project. He was reasonably priced as well. We would not hesitate to offer him further work in the future and would like to recommend his work to others that can benefit from his skills. More...

Shea offered the most reasonably priced, flexible and meticulous gardening service I have experienced.
I was spoilt and will find him near impossible to replace now that he has moved to the other side of the country.
