Welcome. A classically trained musician, I'm offering piano lessons and music theory for adults and children of all levels. I have been playing the piano for over 30 years now having achieved Grade 8 standard at a young age and more recently undertook masterclass style study at the CityLit college for several years under some good professors. I am also a former graduate with a BSc(Hons). Passionate about all things piano I endeavour to share my knowledge and skills in this enduring but rewarding activity.

I have been teaching privately on a one to one basis for about 17 years with various people from all walks of life. This has included brief stints within private music schools/ institutions. I teach all ages and levels.

I am qualified to put students forward for exams, such as with the ABRSM exam board with which I learnt or Trinity. Or you can just lessons take purely for fun and enjoyment (yes it can be fun too).

On the whole I am a friendly approachable teacher and you will be learning in a relaxed environment. I do however require my students to practice in between lessons to make the process worthwhile for both of us.

Lessons are reasonably priced at;

£35 for 60 mins
£30 for 45mins
£25 for 30mins

Plus £5 travel for home visits. I cover about a 3 mile radius from my home (being based in N2 East Finchley).

I can be available most times of the week - daytime as well evenings - so am flexible in this respect. I can also teach Saturdays from mid morning to early afternoon. I can provide references from the various adults and children I've worked with and am fully DBS checked with a clean history.

Examples of current students I'm teaching are a young adult who managed to compose a well structured piece all by himself and suprised his parents (and myself) with what a good job he did. He is preparing for his grade 7 having started from scratch in his early teens. Also have an older adult learner who wanted to pickup from where she left off when she was younger and has discovered her love for the French Impressionist style (mainly Satie). My personal love is that of Chopin's music.
