I cannot begin to say how impressed I was with Richard when I visited Smart Later Life today and only wish I had heard about them earlier.
I went looking for guidance and ended up getting excellent advice with a genuinely caring attitude , which was so appreciated at a very difficult time in my life.
Richard was highly informative , patient and understanding.
I came away feeling that a massive weight had been lifted from my shoulders off my shoulders and only wish I hadn’t previously engaged with a solicitor who was so disappointing in regard to Inheritance tax etc etc.

What do you love most about your job?
Customers first approach me a little confused and somewhat stressed as they know they have to do something in regards their situation but a little unclear as to what that may look like. I enjoy presenting a solution to the customer that immediately puts the customer at ease, knowing their future wishes are now taken care of, no matter what life throws at them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been advising customers on their financial and estate planning needs for nearly 20 years. I have worked as a Financial Planning Manager for Santander for most of my career, and in 2019 decided to start my own company. I was inspired to start my own business as I wanted to help customers with all their financial planning needs as an Independent Financial Adviser, as well as look after their estate planning needs. I was restricted on the products and services that I could offer them whilst working for Santander. I am now truly independent, and feel really confident in recommending the most suitable product to my customers.
Why should our clients choose you?
I always place the customer at the heart of everything I do. I do not charge my customers a penny until they have seen their draft documents and they are 100% satisfied with their content (excluding lifetime trusts).

I am based in The Wirral, North West England, and happy to offer a face-to-face service within a 50 mile radius. If you prefer, I can offer services remotely online or telephone. Whatever the customer prefers.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
If the customer would like me to wear a mask during the appointment, I will have one to hand and I always carry hand gel. However, if a customer has any particular concerns about their safety, I am happy to accommodate as much as possible in order to keep them Covid safe.
