A youngish guy. Absolute Cowboy.
DO NOT pay any deposit unless he gets at least 50% of an agreed Job, done.
Also make sure you put all aspects of the work you discussed, in Writing and get him to sign it.
He agrees to everything you ask and promise verbally, but if you pay him, he does what he wants. And you have no control.
Also, He does not a clean job. If he gets challenged, he gets aggressive, shouts and swears.
I have had a terrible experience.
I hired him on Thursday the 27th of March for an Emergency Roofing To Get the work done on Saturday 29th and if spill over the Sunday30th, which he accepted instantly.
He got the deposit to do that, then called Saturday Morning (two hours before time to show up) to cancel and do the work on Monday.
Monday the 31st by the Lunchtime, it was obvious that he is not up for the work and after an episode of Muscle-Man mouth-muttering shout and swear, I had to ask them to leave which they gladly did and took my money (and my own tape measure) with him.
