Simon has been teaching our son bass, for about 6 months. He loves the lessons and has made great progress. Simon is very organised and always sends resources for the lessons in plenty of time. We would highly recommend him!

Our son (11yo) has been having bass lessons with Simon for 7 months now. We're really pleased with our son's progress from an absolute beginner to strutting around the living room playing along with the songs Simon has introduced him to. We've done both in-person and online lesson options and both have been great. Simon was recommended to us by a friend whose son has taken guitar lessons with him for a while, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Simon to anyone - adult or child. More...

Simon has been teaching my 11 year old bass guitar for nearly two years and is absolutely brilliant. He is professional, patient, encouraging and makes lessons fun and interesting. My son has progressed amazingly during this time. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. More...

Simon has a love of music that is infectious and carries through into his teaching - helping you feel that as you learn you are also exploring music. He is great with goal setting, good at explaining concepts, and is always making sure the difficulty is enough to be challenging but also remain fun. Learning with Simon feels collaborative and joyful - and I always look forward to our lessons. More...
What do you love most about your job?
By far the best part of my job is helping my students grow their confidence. Showing someone how to play a song they had previously thought was impossible builds their self-belief exponentially and it’s amazing to see.
When someone’s confidence grows you see them play with real freedom and I love seeing people take joy from their playing.
Finally I get to share my love of the guitar with others and it’s immensely satisfying to pass on everything that I have learned in my 22 years of playing.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Deep down, I think I knew I wanted to be a professional musician even before I took up the guitar and somehow, teaching came naturally to me. When I was playing with friends and in my first bands I always enjoyed explaining how songs were put together so taking this to a more formal educational format was a natural step.
I have now been teaching in a professional capacity for 11 years and it has proved to be the best career decision I have made yet.
Why should our clients choose you?
Learning guitar can be a daunting task and with so much information online, it's all too easy to get overwhelmed. This is where my approach to learning comes in!
My lessons start with you and what your personal goals in music are. Once we have your personal targets clearly laid out, I will set out a logical progress plan that will help you get there.
To keep things fun, I use song-based learning to teach new techniques, rather than running boring drills and scales. Students stay motivated and progress faster as a result.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
You can learn from me online via Zoom or if you're in the Bristol area (South-West England) we can have our lessons in my home studio
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
