I have known Michael for many years but only recently I needed his services and he was absolutely brilliant. I needed 2 windows to be changed and keep the original frame and the outcome result was absolutely fabulous! He is very knowledgeable about stained glass and glass in general but also very creative and full of ideas which I think is great! My wife was really happy so that was a relief ,and also I had to recommend him to my next door neighbours and they were really happy with his work too. Michael Birch of Selwyn Stained Glass has just completed a bespoke stained glass period front door panel (with laminated glass frontage) and a 5-pane matching staircase window (encapsulated within toughened glass) for our Edwardian house in Didsbury. The result is stunning and we are absolutely delighted. We had previously tried another company but the colours and textures they offered were far too limited and basic for our requirements. When we first met Michael, he understood just what we wanted within 15 minutes and created exactly what he’d promised: an authentic-looking Edwardian design in the specific colours and textures of our choice. Michael’s joiner/fitter, Scotty, also worked to a very high standard. In terms of perfectionism, they make a great team and I would have no hesitation in recommending them. More...

We wished to double glaze 11 leaded light panels in our hall. We used Selwyn Glass speaking to the owner Michael Birch. He was extremely friendly and professional and gave us a full written estimate. His assistant, Sal, and Michael explained everything and started as agreed.Sal was a gem provided he is given 3 sugars in tea regularly. The workmanship was superb. The quality of the finished lead and polished windows done by Gill, Michael's wife'first class. Michael Birch of Selwyn advised us in person on a small stained glass project for a front door and its supporting windows across a porch area. Despite only being a relatively small undertaking, compared to the major projects he regularly undertakes, Mike was full of enthusiasm, creativity, and good advice. Excellent sense of customer service and a real personal touch in terms of dealing with his smaller domestic clients despite being obviously very busy. Very happy with the final result which was competitively priced and punctually completed.
