The pier part itself is ok but having to walk through the arcade let's it down as there is no option to ignore this. The arcade is also quite tired and battered looking, but, on a nice day, the view from the end of the pier is great

The pier is fairly small when you compare it to its Blackpool and Southport neighbours. There's a small arcade with the usual selection of games and machines to play. Few benches at the end to enjoy the view. Southport and Wales are just over the water and on a clear day the views are great.The arcade building is starting to get a bit tired, the windows are not all that transparent. The people we spoke to in the arcade were friendly and welcoming.The beach is raked regularly so its always clean and litter free.The prom before you get to the pier has a few interesting stops. Had a lovely hour in here.As amusement arcades go, this is the best one I've been in.Although I will add, I go in them two or three times a year when I'm in a seaside town, so not that frequently. It was clean and well run and the staff were lovely and helpful.Nice to see lots of 2p machines with ticket prizes for the little ones (wet afternoon, so beach would be a bit grim) as well as the traditional ones that run off 10ps.Great place.
