Hello!
I have worked in the Horticulture industry for 10 years this year, coming from my allotment as a teen, to completing a degree in Horticultural Science, and then working with private clients and businesses as my career progressed.
This year, I am launching my own business name - Rhize Horticulture.

What do you love most about your job?
Not sure I can choose between the people or plants... So, both! I also love that I can have my dog with me a lot of the time, and being able to see lots of different places.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My Journey
Rhize was already in the making as I was also discovering who I was and what I was here to contribute to the world. In my early teens I wrote songs with my guitar about stopping the felling of forests and of ending whale hunts; I was so passionate about protecting our home here on Earth.
During university I found out more about what needed changing and spent my time thinking about how we could overcome these challenges. I discovered a personal but impactful mission, one that I could share with everybody.
I feel that we have lost touch with the natural world and believe that reconnecting will not only protect the environment, but ourselves and others too, in that we are healthier and happier.
Over the years I have found that small personal actions multiplied can have a huge impact, and that these small actions are achievable for most of us at some point or throughout our lives.
I created Rhize so that everyone can discover their own natural connection: to show you practical skills, to help you gain knowledge and provide you with inspiration. It is my mission to remind you how you can exist alongside and support the natural world, whatever, wherever and however that may be.
Why should our clients choose you?
My Philosophy
My goal is to reconnect people to plants by empowering them with knowledge and understanding of nature.
I provide truly bespoke services, taking time to understand every one of my clients and their objectives. I work with nature by taking time to understand the biome of your gardens and green spaces, whilst sharing this with you.
My work is exclusively chemical and peat free and I look to reduce waste, recycle and reuse plants and materials where possible. I select my professional partners carefully and look for those with eco certifications and credentials as well as choosing smaller specialists with knowledge and experience.
I aim to inspire, encourage others to get hands on, and take responsibility for their green space in a supported way. This enjoyable evolution allows my clients to receive the many benefits of their own growth, knowing the environment is benefiting too.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.

Transform your Green Space is done by using online maps and original surveys, along with any photos clients are able to provide (though not necessary so no worries if this isn't possible for you).
The Planting Recommendations and Planting Plan will still be available digitally.
I also offer an Advice Line if you just want a sounding board, steer in the best direction or have a limited budget, I can offer an online or telephone service to help guide and advise you on how best to manage your plants.
