In the last 3 years alone, I've helped an 8 year old with his Maths skills, a 17 year old with resitting her GCSE Maths, a mature student with complete her nursing degree, and several children with 11+ and GCSE exams. I even helped a young lady in her 40s, with her PhD!

What do you love most about your job?
It gives me an enormous sense of pride when I hear back from students I supported years ago, to learn of their achievements today. Many of my students have gone on to become solicitors, doctors, engineers, and one even has her eyes set on joining the RAF!
That's what keeps me going every day, and I look forward to helping more young students achieve their potential.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have been fortunate to have had some incredible teachers myself, growing up, and I have always aspired to have the same positive impact on other young people...especially as they are coming to decide what their future careers may look like. It's a pleasure being a small part of that journey, and it also keeps me on my toes, by pushing me to continually innovate and improve my own learning and teaching processes.
Why should our clients choose you?
Just as every student is different, every learning journey is different. If a strictly regimented learning plan works for you, then we can take that route. However, most of my students learn over time that a flexible approach to their learning journey, with the opportunity to engage with the lessons more interactively, helps the knowledge to "stick"!
So what would a flexible journey look like? In a typical GCSE lesson, you might be asked to prepare a short 5 min presentation on an agreed topic. We will then discuss and fill any knowledge gaps that might pop up. There is always lots of opportunity to ask questions, to explore ideas and thoughts that come from our discussions, and to answer questions to ensure the knowledge has stuck each lesson. For many of my students, I stay away from delivering too many presentations, as tuition is more about pushing you to your potential in subjects and topics you will already have some familiarity with, and less about learning new concepts close to exam times.
So if you work with me, your learning journey will be planned with you in mind, and there will always be opportunity to speed things up, or to slow down, so you have the best opportunity to succeed.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes. All lessons are online, using Google Hangouts or Zoom. All resources are also shared online, and the same for assessments as well. I'm continually working in improving this process, so if you come across anything you'd like to see offered with QTeach, do get in touch!
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I've moved all of my tuitions successfully online, and have utilised Google Hangouts, Google Drive, Zoom and a range of other programs to help students continue to receive the same high standards of learning without compromising on safety.
