The staff were extremely friendly and helpful to start with but by the end of the 2nd day of packing I could tell they weren't performing as well as they did the 1st day. They started putting things in boxes without wrapping them or considering what they'd already placed in the box and stopped labelling the boxes. So 3 of my plants were trapped in boxes without light or water for several days and ended up dying because they'd been crushed. They put a huge dent in the refrigerator door and they also didn't bring my treadmill into the house, it's still in the garage and I'm unable to move it myself. Their excuse was that it wouldn't fit through the door and was too heavy to bring up the 5 steps to the front door despite the door frame being larger than the door they removed it from at my old house. They were not equipped with the proper tools to move large items and so scuffed several walls while moving things as well as dented the refrigerator. The last company I used to move my items 7 years ago wasn't a mainstream company and were provided the tools they needed to move large items safely. I couldn't use them because they weren't available when I needed to move and only Purdie was. I wish I could say I would use Purdie again, but the reality is that I will not. More...

Unfortunately these movers were used by my shipping agent for an international move. Have just received my items and it's a litany of damage including an electric guitar (write off) and electric piano (significant damage). Some items such as the piano and a TV were wrapped in a single layer of bubble wrap, for a long haul shipment. Lazy and cost cutting is probably the kindest summary of their work. More...

Beware when using Purdie Worldwide the removal team are good but let down by General Manager who is a waste of time our computer got broken in the move and he managed to avoid contact for six weeks then came back with a stupid offer one we had to accept due to sheer frustration of no contact just be aware when using them my advice go with a proper removal company NOT PURDIE one that will listen to you and sort things out properly in response to the reply i was told by Purdie staff that i did not need any extra insurance but when questioned the staff of course said no one spoke to me it was just lies so if you decide to use Purdie be VERY careful of these clever pull the wool over your eyes people use them at your own risk

We used Purdie's for a complete packing and house move service and would NOT recommend . A number of our belongings were damaged, some beyond repair; packing was delayed; we were late leaving the property we were vacating through no fault of our own; if we hadn't helped pack, we would have been even later; moving belongings into our new house was carried out inefficiently and without care; if we hadn't helped, it would have been worse. Don't use them. Broke my tv because their packing is shoddy. They then hide behind their insurance company and blame you for taking it out. Disgraceful customer services. And the reply you get is you broke it. No i didn't it was put in to storage bubble wrapped. It was broken in storage. Impact mark on tv where is was packed with a metal bedframe that wasn't tied down. You can see clearly by the pictures that were sent to you. When i phoned was always promised a phone call back. Never happened!!! You wanted a disabled woman to take a 50in tv back to your premises so you could inspect it, how i was meant to do that when i can hardly walk most days is beyond me. Hired purdies never would use again absolute rubbish charged us nearly £1300 for a local move two house 1 a 1 bed bungalow hardly any furniture bad weather stopped first move they said everything ok no charge then we got moved late next time then hit us with all these extras ! My Grandfather started Matt Purdie & Sons back in 1960 originally as a Coal Merchant. He supplied the local towns with fuel for their fires with his modest coal truck.
Ever the gentleman, Matt was kind enough to start ferrying furniture on the back of his coal lorry, for those looking to move house or small goods.
