What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to use my skills to help others navigate what can often feel like a complex and challenging landscape. There's real satisfaction in simplifying that process for clients or colleagues. On top of that, I take pride in producing some of the most comprehensive and detailed construction drawings. It's a demanding part of the job—but it's also one I genuinely enjoy and excel at.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After many years leading a RIBA-accredited practice and working as a Senior Design and Project Manager for a contractor, I felt it was the right time to take the next step and start my own practice. I genuinely believe I can offer my clients a level of service rooted in experience, dedication, and a passion for thoughtful, high-quality architecture.
Starting my own practice has also given me the flexibility to achieve a better work–life balance. It allows me to dedicate more time to the aspects of architecture I love, while also being present for my young family, something that wasn’t always possible during the long days of previous roles.

At Phoenix Architecture, we offer full remote architectural services for clients who may be located further afield or prefer a more flexible working arrangement.
Our process begins with an initial Zoom, FaceTime, or Microsoft Teams meeting, as I believe a face-to-face conversation, even virtually, helps build rapport and ensures a clear understanding of your project from the outset. From there, we can continue using video calls, or switch to phone, email, or WhatsApp, whatever works best for you.
While much of the design and coordination can be managed remotely, I still make a point of attending site in person on a monthly basis (where location and project requirements allow). This ensures that the drawing packages I’ve developed are being followed accurately and that the quality of the build meets our shared expectations.
With a mix of remote efficiency and in-person commitment, you get the best of both worlds, flexible communication and dedicated, detail-oriented service.

At Phoenix Architecture, the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic have permanently improved how we work with clients. While the immediate health threat has eased, we continue to prioritise your safety, comfort, and convenience through thoughtful, modern practices:

We offer initial consultations and ongoing meetings via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or FaceTime, allowing you to engage with us from anywhere. This reduces unnecessary travel, saves time, and allows for more efficient decision-making.

Site visits are scheduled based on project needs and include health-conscious protocols where appropriate. We aim to visit sites regularly, typically monthly, to ensure work aligns with our drawing packages and maintains the high standards you expect.
