What do you love most about your job?
I love finding the key to unlock understanding in my students. In my experience, getting students to actively engage with tasks that are both relevant and exciting, is key. Knowledge just given out to students who are passive has very limited effect, so I use novel and innovative approaches that dont include worksheets.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Im currently at home looking after my young daughter until 3pm every weekday so I'm working remotely. I really enjoy making a difference and unlocking potential in students, so decided to give this a try.
Why should our clients choose you?
Beacuse I am very experienced and qualifued with many references. I also fimd a way to unlock potential in my students, particularly those who either 'don't like' or who just dont engage with English. Because I construct every lesson from scratch, specifically tailored to one student, I generally spend longer planning a lesson than it tskes me to deliver it.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I have taught online, especially during COVID and am able to use a writing tablet and special software to conduct lessons via Zoom. Whilst 'in person' tuition is important for some students, remote learning can be more convenient and, due to distance, may enable me to teach students who I would otherwise be unable to teach in person. I'm also able to reduce the cost as I dont have to factor in travelling time/cost.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Offering remote learning. I also always santise my hands before lessons.
