Ive used BA transfers before, its a good service provider gone bad. Recently I booked an airport transfer, I paid £100+ for it, and I was quite disappointed with the service. The driver did not come inside the terminal and hold a name card. He asked us to come outside and look for him near valet parking. He was shabbily dressed. No suit. Shirt buttons undone. He couldn't understand the postcode and address the first few times. Poor presentation and poor communication. Some sort of music was on, we had to ask him to turn it down. At the destination, he chased me twice for payment, loudly, and I had to remind him twice the payment was pre-made online. I was embarrassed infront of my companions and the hotel staff. I tried filling out this complaint online, but there was an error. I sent an email, got no response. Excellent service: there is a good process in place to inform the customer about what will happen, when it will happen, who will be your driver, the car plate, driver contact information, pre-trip follow ups. Then, the driver arrives exactly at the time you booked. Clean car, friendly driver. You get the car (make and model) you booked (not a “similar or equivalent” like they do with rental cars). Terrible service from this company. Extremely rude and arrogant. Their hidden charges are tantamount to theft! I booked the van for four check-in pieces of luggage and four carry on pieces. I was then shocked to be slapped with a surcharge of £41.00 without any notice from either the driver or the company. It was simply debited from my account. On the phone afterwards the operative said that I was sent a larger vehicle and, if I had been given the original van, everything wouldn’t have fitted. They stated that ‘large boxes’ weren’t included and I should have ordered a bigger vehicle. The boxes they mentioned are actually measured and fit within the BA standards for check-in luggage. They are also below the 32KG weight limit. The fact that the driver made no comment but apparently took photos of the luggage and reported me back to the office further mystified me. Especially as I gave him a rather hefty tip! The operative on the phone then argued with me, claiming this hadn’t been agreed at the outset. The charges had already been made and there was nothing I could do. When I said it was unfair and that I would write a review she said, ‘Fine, go ahead’ and basically put the phone down. This is not the attitude I’d expect from a professional company that charges a premium. The trip ended up costing over £200 from London to Gatwick. If I’d known this I wouldn’t have booked. These sneaky tactics aren’t acceptable and I would recommend staying away from British Airport Transfers. If anyone else has been subject to this kind of treatment I’d also recommend contacting trading standards as I’m lodging a formal complaint. More...

I thought that trip that I had yesterday on October 25 from Heathrow to Brighton 3 Temple St., was exceptional in several ways. First of all the driver was a high-quality person in the way he presented himself and his courtesy and I immediately felt secure and safe with him. He was interesting and very diligent as my plane got in early and and he came right away when we let him know that I was there 10 minutes early .
