On Point Painting

Oya is a very hard working efficient young lady who did an excellent job painting my hall. I would not hesitate to recommend her services.

I gave this young lady a review on 4 March 23 & I'll stick by it, 100%. This review is as honest as the 1st.

Happy with her previous work, I contacted her to ask if she could spray my kitchen cupboard doors & drawers as they we're a bit old & tired, yes she said no problem,

We fixed a price & colour, she picked them up & told me the only problem I might have is they might not go back level & due to being sprayed, as per invoice. I agreed and she took the doors away with her.

A week later I texted her to asked if they we're ready yes she was just waiting for them to dry,

She delivered them on the day she promised. They were wrapped up, in some kind of cling film so trusting her I paid her the money, of £350 & she left, but when I opened them, to my complete horror I saw what I can only describe as looking as if someone had been ice skating on the them. They were scratched all over, plus quite a few cat hairs.

I immediately texted her & asked her to come back,
which she did. She looked at them &, her excuse was it must of been where she'd sanded them. She then told that she would do them in my home. I said no, she needed to take them away & re-do them, she reluctantly agreed and took them away.

Feeling uncomfortable with the way these had been brought back I immediately sent her a text asking if I could have my money back just till the job was completed satisfactorily.
She agreed & brought the cash back & she said she'd be giving the the doors back to you as they were. I said you can't give them back to me like that I can't put them back up they're terrible. She then replied said you've got your money back, as if that settled things. I couldn't believe it,
I said you told her she knew what she was doing & if she didn't why did she take the job. She replied In with a very nasty tone I'd not seen before that she'd spray them, before she stomped of in a huff.

The next day I called her to calm the situation down she was so apologetic saying sorry I should of never brought them back to you like that & I should have never spoken to like that,

She then promised that they would come back to me in mint condition, & it would be a week for delivery,

Feeling a little bit more at ease I told her if she needed more time to get them it right it wouldn't be a problem,

A week later as promised she delivered them this time completely rapped up tight in bubble, again not sticking around for me to unwrap them,

To my horror, once again, this time they were half glossed & half matt on each of doors, they look as if. They hadn't been sprayed, but half-rollered, with flecks of paint stuck on them, I even got her her finger prints stuck in the paint chips of god knows what else. The smudges are horrendous,

Texting her again & asking her to come back she then said she had a family situation & she couldn't come back today & she would be in contact.

A week later nothing from her, so I texted her and when she ignored it, texted her again. This time I got a reply say she wasn't working at the moment & would be in touch, but a week later, I'd still heard nothing.

My patience has run out with this woman who took on a job that she was clearly incapable of doing. She has left me with damaged kitchen doors & draw fronts which are beyond repair & I haven't got the energy or the life left in me to even listen to her excuses as I'm terminally ill, which she is fully aware & taken full advantage of out of a situation when I'm at my most vulnerable.

How can I wrap up this review about the behaviour of this painter & decorator?

When she knows what she's doing, she's very good, but when she doesn't, behaves like a petulant 5 year old who's damaged someone else's property & left it for the adults to sort out. More...

I was a bit worried at first about the lack of dust sheets and needing to ask whether skirtings would be sanded down, but she came good for me. given how high the ceilings are in my flat, I was quite amazed everything seemed to have been done with just one ladder.

She arrived at agreed times and ensured the main ceiling (which positively drank paint) looked perfect. The result has been a job done with care and attention to detail. Would I invite her to work for me again? Yes, 100%. More...
