Before I talked to Nusrat Jahan, I didn’t know much about food or health. I used to eat whatever I had, didn’t think if it was good or bad for me. আমার আব্বুর ভয়াবহ এক্সিডেন্ট এ পা কেটে ফেলতে হয়। পা কেটে ফেলার জন্য অন্যতম কারণ ছিল ডায়বেটিস। নুসরাত জাহান ম্যাম এর সাথে তখনি আমার পরিচয় হয়। তার পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী খাবার এর ম্যানু পরিবর্তন করেছিলাম। তিনি যেই ভাবে টাইম ও খাবার এর আইটেম এর চার্ট করে দিয়েছিলেন সেটাই নিয়মিত পালন করেছি আমার আব্বুর জন্য। আলহামদুলিল্লাহ আব্বুর ডায়বেটিস কন্ট্রোল হয়ে, পায়ের ঘাও শুকিয়ে গেছে। আল্লাহর রহমতে কৃত্রিম পায়ের সাহায্যে আব্বু চলাফেরা করতে পারে এখন।

I joined a community nutrition session by Nusrat Jahan. ওনার কথা খুব সহজভাবে বোঝানো ছিল – local খাবার দিয়েই কীভাবে healthy choice করা যায়, সেটা শিখলাম। ছোট ছোট change, যেমন খাবারের পরিমাণ কমানো, ভাতের জায়গায় অন্য কিছু দেওয়া বা প্রতিদিন ফল-সবজি খাওয়ার কথা – এগুলো ওনার থেকে জেনে খুব উপকার পেয়েছি। এখনো আমি ওনার দেওয়া টিপসগুলো ফলো করি। আমার পরিবারেও এর positive effect পড়েছে।
