Nathan showed up on time every day. The quality of work was very good. I would recommend him. He replaced my fence that blew down in the wind.

I made a big mistake hiring Nathan to regrout my patio. On the Saturday a subcontractor turned up, took one look at what needed to be done, called a mate for a second opinion, and disappeared again. He did return on Monday but did a poor job over the next few days, using much of the old broken up grout as filler to be able to use less of the new grout, failing to relay properly the handful of slabs that needed it and leaving quite a bit of mess behind. At one point he asked me why I had employed Nathan to do the job, as he didn't think Nathan had the experience for it. Nathan himself came back to relay the slabs that needed it and to regrout some areas that were missed or poorly done. However, four weeks later the grout had failed to set properly and the slabs that were meant to have been re-laid (twice) were loose again, so Nathan came by to see what needed to be done to fix things. He concluded that the Sika Fastfix originally used wasn't suitable for my patio and that old-fashioned sand and cement would be needed to replace it. Nathan offered to remove the old grout, relay the loose slabs and regrout, but that I would have to pay for materials. To replace the five or six 15kg tubs of Sika Fastfix which had failed I was expected to pay another £250 for two tons of sand plus cement, as if it were somehow my fault that the wrong materials had been used in the first place. And over twenty times as much grout needed as before? I said I'd be happy for the offer of free labour to remove the failed grout and to relay the loose slabs but that I was not prepared to pay £250 for the materials required to regrout. I was also not at all confident that Nathan would do a good job. Nathan didn't turn up on the agreed date, so it seems that the offer of free labour was dependent on the payment of £250.
I really should have been more careful. Had I investigated NM DESIGN&BUILD LTD I would have found that the company had been dissolved in 2023 and wouldn't have hired Nathan. More...

Gives me great sadness in reading such a danaging review. On inspection of the thickness of the paving slab and the sand cement bed I advised the client that the sika pointing may not be suitable due to the depth of the joints being to deep so it will be better to stick to sand and cement. The client above insisted they wanted the sika pointing finish and preffered this. The job was 80sqm and we charged £1000 to grind out and re-point the patio. We allowed for 3/4tubs of sika pointing and when we were half way through I explained to the client were going to need double due to the thickness of the beds and slabs (uncharged for) Once applied the pointing in some parts had not set and was becoming loose, I then went back and explained to the client this is what I said may happen as rheres nothing for it to bond to in the gap. I said ill be more than happy of course to grind it all out and repoint in sand and cement but for the client to get the materials. On the visit client was happy for this and said they were going away for a week and back from kent on monday or tuesday and would let me know - that they didnt. Regarding the company being "disolved" this is also a false statement as we were away for some time last year and was not trading, we are currently in progress with re- initiating and have arranged with companies house on what process to take to get it back live. Please bear in mind this has been like it for the previous 6months and has not faulted any other future or exisiting clients we have booked in and completed works for.
