Josh is an excellent trainer and very personable. He brings out the best in everyone, always offering encouragement, checking your technique, and giving valuable advice. The group is lovely, inclusive of all ages and abilities, and not intimidating like some large gyms.

If you’re unsure about large gyms or need guidance on exercises and strength training, this is the perfect place for you. I’ve completed six weeks so far and already feel stronger. It’s tough, but I always feel great afterwards. Thanks Josh.

I joined the Newcastle Fitness Club at the start of May to improve my fitness on the 4 week programme. Within 4 weeks the changes I seen in my fitness made me want to stick with the classes and continue my journey. The classes fit my work schedule perfectly. Josh and the team are amazing at what they do. It is a really hands on gym and feels more like a team. Everyone was so lovely and welcoming and I haven’t felt self conscious like I have at other gyms. The progress I have made just within 6 weeks in my fitness is remarkable as I’d never have thought I’d be able to lift weights and do cardio based exercise. I’d definitely recommend the classes to anyone regardless of fitness level. Thank you to Josh and the team for giving me motivation and confidence to do the classes and see real improvements. I joined Newcastle fitness club because I didn't feel confident in the gym. I wanted to feel fitter, stronger and slimmer but I didn't know how to go about it. I joined on the 6 week course intending to gather enough confidence and knowledge to go to a regular gym afterwards. I definitely could do that if I wanted to because after only 5 weeks, I feel much more confident and knowledgeable. But now I can't imagine going to any other gym. For the first time in my life, I'm enjoying working out. Josh is very supportive and positive and so are the other members. After a few years suffering from ME the result of a serious hospitalisation for viral meningitis and the addition of several sports injuries, I did a thorough search for someone to get me back to my old self and I came across Josh. After a good chat about everything and listening to how he could help, I gave it a go and 3 weeks in I already feel like I am making headway and am definitely more motivated. Josh is extremely knowledgeable and is great at working round sensitive spots and adapting exercises to get the most out of every training session. He is professional, empathetic and is a great human being. He will follow up with you at the end of the week to see how you feel and is happy to discuss anything. Josh is brilliant! After a recent injury I decided I wanted to get back into fitness but was nervous about how to go about it, while making sure I didn’t cause further damage. I joined NE1 Fitness around a month ago, I put a post on a website looking for personal trainers. Josh rang me the following day, I had a good conversation with him and he listened to my concerns and worries. Since joining he’s been so consistent with me, checking that I’m doing alright during the sessions. Josh to me is a perfect coach who is positive and always pushes you but understands your boundaries! Since joining and doing my four week program I went from 101kg to 99.8kg, in less than a month! The groups are positive and friendly and Josh has been an amazing support for me! So if you’re thinking about joining do it, it’s so worth it and you’ll enjoy every session no matter how hard they are! I originally joined the fitness club (on a 4 week plan) to heal from injuries as well as feel more comfortable in the gym/sure in myself in movements and Josh and the team has done just that! The classes and environment are so welcoming/friendly and you can see it is a priority to make sure everyone is comfortable in the movements they are doing and it is for all abilities. A fantastic environment to train, Josh’s attention to detail when leading the sessions is perfect, explains and demos all the movements at the beginning of every session and it seems I learn something new every time! Who knew feet position was so important when bench pressing?! The members make it a welcoming place to train and is definitely open to all abilities. Having been put off anything gym related at school, I have now been attending NE1 Fitness for eight weeks. Not only am I loving it, but it has transformed my health. Josh is a fantastic trainer. He takes great care to understand everyone, their goals and needs, and how to push to challenge yourself. The club is a safe space for everyone, whatever their ability or fitness, and everyone is really supportive and friendly. The only person you compete with is yourself. I started accessing NE1 Fitness Club about 3 months ago and its been one of the best decisions I've made in a while. I hadnt accessed any fitness clubs in quite some time so was worried about not being fit enough, unable to keep up and a fear of failing or looking stupid. However my experience so far has been nothing other than brilliant and not only has my strength and endurance improved my mental wellbeing is booming :) I couldn't of done this on my own . Josh promotes and facilitates a space that is welcoming, inclusive and encouraging as well as making you feel part of something. Everyone whom I've met so far is lovely and supportive and I can already see the change in myself. Josh has really helped me push myself- and that was exactly what I needed. The gym is a great facility and the group is friendly and made up of people at completely different levels. Having not trained for a long time and being overweight and unfit and over 50, I was really worried about joining a fitness club…. However, Josh was friendly and very professional at my induction, explaining everything to me and being really enthusiastic and supportive The club is not pretentious, there are people of all ages and fitness levels. and Everyone works at their own pace, supporting each other and encouraging each other, and I am so pleased I put my trainers back on and didn’t sit on the couch ! Josh is an exceptional trainer, constantly checking that you are in the correct position to avoid injuries and is very supportive all the way through.
