My daughter started sessions with Lynn Widdowson in Jan 2025 in preparation for SATs and it’s been a brilliant experience for all of us. Our main aim was to build confidence and reduce stress. That has certainly been achieved as she went off this morning for her first exam happy and secure. Lynn was brilliant at covering the curriculum and also using any areas we raised to go over and working together to find the topics that would be the most useful. We have been using NLG since March 2024 to help my son with spelling. His tutor is Victoria Knapp. In just over a year, with one lesson a week, Victoria went back to re-teach our son phonics and has gradually built him up to doing Year 6 SATs practice tests. He is achieving scores now that we never really imagined would be possible. I cannot thank Victoria enough for the impact she has had on our son's confidence and spelling ability. My 9 year old son has been having maths and english lessons with Lynn Golding for a few weeks now. He looks forward to his lessons with her each week and tells me he enjoys every one! Lynn was able to identify an area in maths that my son wasn't confident in, which should have been solid from his previous school year. Without being told this by her I believe he would continue to struggle in maths as his school and I didn't pick this up. Hi all I'm David Bercea mum's and I would like to share our experience with Mrs Victoria Knapp as we are doing Maths and English my boy is so happy and excited to get lesson 2 a week he's been improving a lot since we started doing private lessons, more confident now then before and he's able to answer to the questions easily now ,we are absolutely proud of our tutors he's been very supportive and her experience to work with autistic children is amazing 👏 thank you so much for fantastic work we are happy to continue in the next few year aswell ! My daughter felt like she was falling behind in top-set maths, adding to her stress and lowering her confidence. Anab changed all that, leading to improved scores, enjoyment and confidence. What really stood out to me as a parent though was, after the mocks, when I asked if she taught a subject my daughter underperformed at, Anab herself (who doesn't teach the subject) suggested that we pause maths (as I couldn't budget for both) so my daughter can work with another tutor to improve on that subject. My 13 year old daughter has reading and spelling sessions once a week with Lynn Golding (for the last year). Being dyslexic Catherine wasn't getting the appropriate level of reading and teaching in her school class, and due to her sessions with NLG, with Lynn (and Kate prior to Lynn), her confidence in reading has improved.

Catherine was been working with my daughter since September. We contacted NLG as we were struggling to find independent local tutors who would work with a child as young as 6, but NLG assured us it wouldn't be a problem. Catherine has been absolutely brilliant with out daughter, building a lovely rapport and our daughter really enjoys her lessons. Being on the pathway for ADHD and autism assessments we were unsure how well a remote lesson would work, but we've been pleasantly surprised. Catherine interacts well with her, indulges her distraction to help her feel validated, the swiftly redirects her back to the learning they are working on together. She also has a real knack for bringing whatever the distraction is into the lesson (for example when our daughter starts trying to show her toy cars, she will adapt her teaching to include the cars, such as ohhh they're lovely, can you think of any adjectives that might work well for this one). My daughter has done a few lessons but I'm really impressed already with the format and that she has access to two online learning platforms included in the tutoring price (Reading Eggs and MyMaths). The initial assessment helps determine where your child will need help/what level they're at. It's definitely up to parents to listen to tutors feedback and help support their learning further by engaging with it and ensuring they get the most out of tuition by utilising the learning tools outside of sessions. The 1-on-1 is just what we needed as our daughters struggled since lockdown to "catch up", and busy classrooms don't always have time for the extra support where some children are struggling to understand basic building blocks to support the next step up. Took several payments from us and then after two separate teachers said they couldn’t provide a tutor for my son due to shortage. So we had to cancel but then wouldn’t refund money for lessons we had paid. Said they had wavered the 4 week cancellation so we are not entitled to a

I would NOT!! recommend National Learning Group If only I could give a rating of 0. I decided to joint NLG in December 2023 for my daughter. I wanted a qualified Maths teacher NLG allocated one at the rate of £37 for 40 minutes. My daughter had her first 2 sessions. When it came to 3rd session my daughter was waiting on zoom for 10 minutes after the allocated time. The tutor emailed after saying she could not attend the session. Then again 4th session something happened daughter waiting on zoom tutor did not turn up emailed after 10 minutes saying I could not attend. However they kept taking payment out of my account. When I spoke NLG about the tutor not turning up on time they made me feel that I was at fault and that the tutor has the right to cancel. I suggested that I would like to be allocated a another tutor. They said we have found another teacher but straight after they emailed again no teachers are available. NLG said as a good will gesture we are willing to waive 4 week notice period a a good will gesture. I want to know what good will gesture ? you have failed to provide a tutor and when I asked for a refund for £74 the 2 sessions that did not go ahead. NLG have said we will not provide a refund. Shame on you NLG and Emily Clark who did not reply to my email for a refund. The manager that did not mention his name shame on you and all that I have spoken from NLG for cunningly not providing the services and then not refunding the sessions. Pathetic!! More...

My daughter went through various tutors and in the main the lessons were well delivered. The issue with the National Learning Groups is with their communication internally between tutors, finance and their tutor allocations team. Despite requesting timings be changed to lessons around a month prior to lessons restarting after the holidays no response given from tutor that there was any issue resulting in payment being taken for lessons not recieved. Catch up lessons are always offered even when lessons are missed due to issues on the tutor side despite continually making NLG aware that this is unsuitable. NLG will quote their small print/Ts&Cs instead of taking ownership for issues their end therefore as long as you're happy to be messed around with payments the lessons in the main I feel are well delivered. Hi Gentiana, we provide 'make up credits' for any missed lessons and then reschedule them for you so that you never miss out on a lesson you have paid for. This is a great system, where many of other companies would just charge you and not make up the lesson. Can you please call the office on 01434 239069 and ask for Deb, and we will look into this and get everything sorted out for you.

They were quick in coming back to me and the staff seemed nice talking to. Teaching starts next week so looking forward to it.
