I have been a type 2 diabetic for 25 years, and was diagnosed a year ago with non alcoholic fatty liver disease. After researching what diet to follow I found the advice very conflicting has I had 2 conditions. I looked for nutritionists and found Darren on bark. At this point my mental and physical health was at rock bottom. I worked with Darren on slowly changing my diet, so it wasn't too challenging. Being taught what to eat and what effects it was having on my body I have been able to reduce my weight and my continues slowly dropping which is helping me to be more active. Although I haven't done any exercise other than walking about in my day to day life. I was also taught about the importance of food and food plays an important part in your mental health and the importance of relaxation. Although I haven't done any exercise other than walking about in my day to day life. I feel that my body is working much better and that gives me the confidence and motivation to continue has it has helped my mental health a great deal, looking forward to much better health in the future. The results speak for themselves,iam off some of my medication,my blood sugar readings are continuing to fall ,ihave had some weight loss and my mental health is much more positive, which is giving me the motivation to be much more active. It’s an absolute pleasure to train with Daz, he listens to what you want to achieve and designs programmes to do just that! He pushes boundaries and doesn’t allow you to give up!

Best trainer at the gym by far! So much to offer, his army training makes circuits challenging but yet you feel amazing afterwards! His technique when teaching me to use weights helps me build on the strength I have more effectively

I love the variation in my programmes, I like how I’m constantly learning new techniques. I enjoy the goals I’m set and achieving them despite how hard they are. Daz is very complimentary and always makes you feel like your smashing your targets.

I love how Daz gets involved with my training, it makes it fun and even more enjoyable. His nutritional knowledge is exceptional and I can’t wait to adapt my routine to benefit from more of this. I have known Daz for a good few months and have very much appreciated his time and effort and generally his attitude.

Daz approached me as I was practicing the bleep test as I was planning on joining the forces, unfortunately I only had a week to thoroughly train, but Daz did incredible and effective work in the time given.

I feel Daz's strengths comes from his knowledge and experience, this coming from his previous experience in the British Army, but my personal favorite attribute from Daz is his motivation and ability to push me further then I thought I could achieve.

I would happily recommend Daz to anyone looking for fitness help for all the reasons above, but not to forget he is just a great guy to get to know.

I have been a regular gym-goer for quite a number of years but the last couple of years I seemed to be lacking motivation and I felt I was just going through the motions.

Daz started at the gym, introduced himself to me and asked if I wanted to try a training session with him. The session proved to me just how much I had let things slide. I enjoyed the session so much that I decided to start training with him.

I always enjoy training sessions and look forward to them, and he makes them so varied that the time flies by. He is friendly, engaging, encouraging, always keeps me on my toes (quite literally as legs ache sometimes) and always makes sure I am using the correct technique.

My fitness levels and stamina have improved quite dramatically and I look forward to much more improvement over the coming months.

Daz is a really exceptional trainer and really makes workouts much fun with his personality and choice of workout. I've been him with him for approximately 4 months and I've enjoyed choosing him. It was all due to chance as he was trained chosen for my fit pack promotions and I continued because it could be seen he knew his stuff and pushed me harder than I have ever gone.

I really like how not only he chooses to be your personal trainer who pushes you to the limit but also someone who cares enough to know what is happening in your daily life and to try help in every way possible. He not only is a great person to talk to but has a ethos which is to not only look good in front of a mirror but also be able to utilise what you learn in the gym with you daily and increase your health.

I like that not only he focuses on the muscle building but endurance and cardio which is essential for good health and he has at many times proven that his method is affective but goes beyond normal expectation. I have seen first-hand that his method does work as I've improved greatly in all aspects of my health.

I have noticed many changes in both appearance I've lost much fat and built definition. I have seen also changed in ability due to his personality to never let you give up and always push you to your absolute best.
I feel his personality helps a lot and also his organisation of workouts are qualities to be admired.

I'm progressing very well and hopefully I keep going at it. As I want to constantly better myself so build more and be the best I can.

I was recommended the services of Darren after having knee surgery in 2012. I suffered a fracture T12 vertebrate in 2014.

After having 2 weeks of set backs I was finally given the go-ahead to begin my rehabilitation.

After contacting Darren and working with him over a period of 3 months he has developed a program designed to kick start me getting back as much mobility as possible.

With Darren's knowledge, skills, expertise and passion. I knew this was long term programme not just a short fix.

Even after this short period of time and comprehensive timetable of exercise looking at posture, stability, balance and core strength. I am a lot stronger more stable, mobile and flexible.

With the help of Darren I am a more positive person because he has given me the confidence to walk tall.

In October 2015 I have decided that I wanted to change my lifestyle and I needed a massive change that will make me look and feel better about myself.
Once reading Darren’s profile, I realized that he would be perfect for the transformation that I wanted to achieve, since he has the military background, therefor would not be scared of telling me exactly what to do and how, as well as nutritionist and he has worked with people with injuries. I have been diagnosed with hip distortion about four/five years ago, and since then I have been in pain weather It is when I am just walking or trying to play any sports.
Having played sports my whole life, it was a devastating news for me and I turned to food, and that is when I started gaining weight more and more. What is adding to my weight problem is that I also have insulin resistance, which would mean that I need to live as a diabetic and that I would put on weight much faster than others.
After mine and Darren’s first consultation, I knew that he would be able to help me, firstly with the pain and then with the weight. By working on muscles around the hips and strengthening them, in just 5 months I have started feeling like myself again. I could wear heels, walk fast for a long time, sit in positions that i could not have before, and sleep better. Achieving that was something that I did not think will happen that fast and that the results would be so obvious, but they were. When it comes to losing weight, we are currently in the process of that.
Because I have not done any sport or anything really for a very long time, I lost all of my muscles really, and there for before I can start losing great amounts of weight, I have to build on muscle tissue, and that is what we are doing at the moment. I know that this is going to be a very long process for me, but I am confident that in two years’ time I will be able to run with no pain and also achieve my goal weight.
Darren is not just a trainer, he is a friend, a rock, support and most important he makes me feel like I could do anything and I am curtain that together we can make me into my own perfect self.

(2021) I decided that I wanted to lose some to be able to increase my fitness and spend time with my kids along with losing weight, I asked about and used the internet then made calls and decided that Darren would be the best to help my with my aims and ambitions. During our call Darren made me feel very comfortable and at ease making it better for our first session.

At the first session Darren went into my objectives and we went into detail of my old back injury that was causing a lot of pain and discomfort. By the next session Darren had been researching my injury and created my first fitness plan which was to help relieve the pain in my back along with increasing my core strength, and start the reduction of my weight with a personal diet plan to assist with everything.

Darren is very attentive and professional in what his teaches and his ability to listen, understand and empathetic ways of helping along with his regular contact both in lessons and regular check up calls are gratefully appreciated, especially the last one with all the latest Covid lockdowns that we have all had to go through.

Darren has a very good knowledge of his profession and is very attentive to your training needs and recovery that may be needed from an injury, he also creates a diet and meal plan to assist you with improvements for weight loss, training and recovery. I used to be quite overweight to be honest, however after a few months of regular training with Darren and following the tailor made training plan created for me, I started to realise that I was not so short of breath and could exercise and plan games with my children more than I could before.

Training was Darren is fun but serious, he help to build your trust in him very easily. Darren is very approachable and makes you feel at ease which makes it good to be both serious and fun in achieving your goals. With me working full time and being a single dad I tend to focus on everyone else than myself, but after forcing myself out initially I actually got into the swing of things and enjoyed training myself a great deal even managing to get my kids involved at times too.

Loosing weight was a fantastic feeling at first as initially it was quite quick, however now I focus upon controlling it’s loss and keeping it reducing slowly as I know that I do not want it to return back to the levels it used to be.

I would highly recommend Darren to everyone who may want to train, lose weight or even want to just improve their well being. Darren s work ethic, disire to help by listening, understanding your needs and empathetic teaching will help you achieve your goals. When I first contacted Darren 3 months ago, I had lost weight that I didn't need to lose, I was struggling to get around because of the lack of energy, and I had nutrient deficiencies, difficulty thinking, pain, loss of sleep and toilet problems. I had never been taught properly, or effectively, about what I needed to do to feed and care for my body effectively. Thankfully, Darren is very thorough at measuring and spotting deficiencies so that he can effectively correct them. Although I am only 5 appointments in (10 weeks), I have more energy, and my food intake is healthier and getting to a level that will sustain me properly - I would never have thought that I could see results so quickly because of the length of time that I have been struggling. Darren also teaches you to understand what food does, the quantities needed and when to use foods with different energy releases. He is also very perceptive in the way a person is reacting to things in their life, food, exercise and much more. I would also like to say that the additional Calls and videos that Darren makes helps to consolidate the information given during each face-to-face appointment. I still class myself as being at an early stage in the proceedings, but I have learned so much in such a short space of time. "When I first met Darren I was on a cross trainer at the gym . Darren introduced himself and explained that he could help me to lose weight and get healthier. When I looked around I initially thought he had chosen me because I was the biggest in the gym at that time. In my head I thought “ CHEEKY SOD”. Oh but I was wrong. I then attended some of his classes at the gym and my god did he push me. A few swear words and “THE SON OF SATAN” came out of my mouth a few times but I am glad he did. He pushed me to my limit but he also listened. He focuses on muscle building but he also focuses on cardio as well which I have noticed that my health as improved greatly as well as losing weight, and he also does a nutrition plan that is unique to you. Darren is easy going but professional at the same time and I can talk to Darren at ease and in confidence. If I have any problems then Darren will listen. I have noticed a great improve in my fitness levels and feel a lot more healthier( no more feeling sluggish). I am glad that Darren came to speak to that first time and I highly recommend hence the 5 star
rating.

We were training with Daz for around 6 months in 2020. It was an educational experience. He didn’t just showed us the way to the healthy life. He gave us the knowledge how to continue with it!!! Daz will be with you on each step you take. He will teach you the most important you need to know about food, exercise and stretching.

His knowledge about different injuries and arthritis will help you to reach a life with less or no pain at all. Daz doesn’t know what he knows only by the books. He speaks through personal experience which make him the best choice of PT!

"I wish I had started physical therapy back in middle school when I was first diagnosed! Like many people living with RA, I find that I feel better with moderate activity. A mild exercise regimen, along with PT as needed, helps keep my joints mobile and my muscles strong and nimble. PT is also important after some types of surgeries. I had my knee replaced in September 2017, and I still look forward to going to PT three times per week, for two hours or more per session. I do an hour of hydrotherapy in the pool — including a cool aqua treadmill! — and then about an hour on land. This includes weight-bearing and range-of-motion exercises. I really enjoy it. PT has inspired me to want to keep moving!"
