Having had no previous gym or personal training experience, I was a little nervous getting started. Those nerves vanished within the month and these days I look forward to my weekly t̶h̶r̶a̶s̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ physical self improvement.
Meli is friendly, chatty, easily approachable and is quick to observe individual needs and preferences. How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
I specialise in functional fitness movement- A well rounded and personalised approach for each of my clients helps them focus on how their body is moving to utilise each exercise which will continue to help them in everyday movement, as well as aging. The pride and excitement my clients gain from being able to achieve a movement is great to see, with self esteem improvement of "looking better" being the cherry on the top. I want people to learn to move because they love their body, not because they hate it.
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
Training for performance, not for a "look", as soon as people stop stressing and obsessing with certain body parts in how they look, they will start to enjoy exercise instead of it being a punishment. Having a PT helps people move correctly and gain the benefit of each exercise as well as keep the accountability and take the stress off of "what to do" as all you have to do is show up, give it a good go, and I will cover the rest!
What do you love most about your job?
Watching people achieve new goals and learning how to move correctly and be so proud of themselves and appreciating their body for achieving what they've set out to do
What inspired you to start your own business?
My in person PT is based in a small space which takes the intimidation that some gyms can have.
Why should our clients choose you?
A lot of people start working out as a punishment to their body as they're not happy with where they are at. I want to empower people to work out because they love and appreciate their body and want it to reach its potential in moving correctly. I believe movement specific programming will not only allow people to strengthen themselves and their self esteem but also carry these skills through their life.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
My In person PT is a small location with a lot less traffic than conventional gyms. Keeping the space clean and tidy is the responsibility of all PT's who work there and I keep an open dialogue with clients of illnesses.
