I’ve been fortunate enough to have two photoshoots with Lois, in the first I was so nervous and out of my comfort zone but Lois made me feel so at ease, she has a way of intuitively knowing what you’re comfortable with, where she can help you push yourself and what your boundaries are. After spending pretty much my whole life feeling unhappy in my body, she captured photos I couldn’t believe were me and made me feel so proud and accepting of my body. Before the photoshoot I was so nervous and was not sure I will be able to even find one picture that I would like myself. Lois was so sweet and supportive and she made sure I was comfortable with everything that was happening . As a performer, I often put on a front and act as if I am really confident. To my friends and family I seem very outgoing and carefree, when in reality I can often feel quite insecure and nervous towards certain situations. I wanted to not have to rely on the front that I had been putting up. I actually wanted to feel truly confident within, instead of just ‘pretending’ to. Stepping into the studio with Lois and having such a supportive group of women around me helped me to realise that this was possible. Within the shoot I went from feeling apprehensive, to ‘fuck it’! By the end of the shoot I was just embracing me as me. Lois helped me feel like an absolute queen and really understood what I meant when she asked what I wanted to get out of the shoot. I was so nervous heading into the TWL photoshoot as I’d never done anything like it before, not the most confident and posing infront of a camera is not something that comes naturally to me!
