I must say from all the ice rinks I have been to, this is one of the worst. Health and safety at its best and not just from the 300+ people on the rink at one time with speed skaters weaving in and out of everyone, causing them to fall and injure themselves (have an actual slot for this not a public skate) children with the skating aids causing havoc, none skaters stood all over the entry and exit to the rink, pretty much 80% stood holding onto the sides. . One guy injured himself very badly and looked to have broken or dislocated his leg, not once did any staff ensure the rink was cleared or a reasonable area clear for any medical help! It was just atrocious!! Unfortunately didn't have my own ice skates and had to hire which are the most ill fitted, painful skates known to man!! Absolutely appalling! Then to the kitchen/cafe by reception.. girls behind arguing amongst each other, serving drinks and food with NO hair nets or gloves etc! Scratching their heads and faces etc.. I'm currently using the gym for Cardiac rehabilitation working with NHS team. The gym is well equipped and clean, and the equipment seems well maintained. Thank you.

Deeside Leisure Centre has all the usual facilities and classes as well as a cafe, library, skate and inflatable parks. The Afon Spa is wonderful and do an offer for 2 people! Well worth checking out. But, the very best things about the DLC is that it is the home of the Deeside Dragons Ice Hockey Team. If you haven't been to watch this amazing sport then you definitely need to. The team are amazing and 9 times out of 10 you can meet the players after the game. Website has no information, their contract with the charity funding them has now expired and they haven’t bothered to change the website, even though they have had a month to have a backup plan. Travelled an hour to potentially what activities we could do, as they didn’t answer the phone. We went in and encountered the staff that were as useful as Stevie Wonder in a barbershop. Very unhelpful. We tried ringing plenty of times on our way there, no answer still. Must also note that there were 5 staff members huddled together having a nice chat when we entered, which was surprising as I’d of thought it would have been jampacked from the phones being down. After talking to the extremely intelligent and highly skilled customer service experts at the reception, we were told the only activity the pair of us (two adults) could do was the inflatable park! Unfortunately we decided against it as we felt that we wouldn’t quite fit in with the 4-8 year old children there, however I’m sure they would have been more pleasant to deal with than Deeside leisure centre as a whole. I never leave reviews as I don’t usually see the point most of the time, however after todays experience I would like to help other people not waste there time. However we may potentially revisit in the future with all our friends, relatives, neighbors… Anyone, just to show them that no matter how bad you may think your life is, it can get worse by visiting Deeside leisure centre! Lots to do in one place. We come here for the ice skating, which is always good fun. There is a nice little coffee shop in the reception area and a food place in the skating ring which is quite reasonable. There is also an indoor skating park a gym, and a sports hall on site. More...
