What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job is seeing the positive impact our work has on businesses across Essex. There’s a real satisfaction in knowing that we help create clean, safe, and welcoming environments where people can work productively and confidently. Whether it’s an office, a medical practice, a school, or a factory, each site we clean is important – and so are the people who work there.
I also take great pride in building strong, long-term relationships with our clients. Many of them have been with us for years, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see that level of trust and loyalty grow through consistent service and genuine care.
Equally, I value the opportunity to lead a team of over 260 dedicated professionals. Supporting our staff, helping them develop, and ensuring they feel valued is something I take very seriously. Their commitment and hard work are the foundation of everything we do, and I’m proud to work alongside them.

What inspired you to start your own business?
The inspiration to start Minster Cleaning came from a desire to build a business that places customers at the heart of everything it does. I recognised a clear gap in the market for a commercial cleaning service that was not only reliable and professional, but also genuinely committed to delivering a consistent, high-quality experience for every client – no matter the size or sector.
I am driven by the belief that a clean, well-maintained workplace can make a real difference to employee wellbeing, company image, and operational efficiency. From the beginning, I wanted to create a company that valued its staff just as highly as its clients, and that could grow steadily through trust, reputation, and exceptional service delivery.
That founding motivation continues to guide the business today. We’ve grown to serve over 300 commercial premises across Essex, supported by a dedicated team of over 260 cleaning professionals – yet we’ve never lost sight of the values that inspired us from the start: reliability, trust, and a commitment to putting customers first.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
At Minster Cleaning, the health and safety of our clients and staff has always been our top priority — and never more so than during the Covid-19 pandemic. In response, we implemented a comprehensive set of enhanced measures to ensure our cleaning services continued safely and effectively across all customer sites.
Key changes we introduced included:
Enhanced Cleaning Protocols: We adopted more frequent and thorough cleaning of high-touch surfaces such as door handles, desks, switches, and communal areas using industry-approved virucidal products proven to be effective against Covid-19.
Staff Training and PPE: All cleaning operatives received additional training on infection control, hand hygiene and the safe use and disposal of personal protective equipment (PPE). We supplied our staff with masks, gloves, aprons and hand sanitiser to use as standard.
Social Distancing and Site Safety: We worked closely with our clients to schedule cleaning at times that minimised contact between our staff and theirs and we supported site-specific risk assessments to comply with social distancing and workplace safety guidelines.
Rapid Response and Deep Cleaning Services: We offered emergency deep cleaning services for sites affected by confirmed or suspected Covid-19 cases, using specialist fogging equipment and disinfectant treatments.
Continuous Communication: We kept in regular contact with our clients to provide updates, respond to changing needs and adjust cleaning schedules as workplaces reopened or adapted their operations.
These measures ensured that we could continue to deliver a safe, consistent service while helping our clients protect their staff, customers and visitors. Our proactive approach gave peace of mind to those we serve — and reinforced the value of a professional, reliable cleaning partner during uncertain times.
