Mark called me himself for an intro mins after I submitted my task on Bark. He then sent me his portfolio as with other photographers I’ve enquired. He has been calling me almost on a daily basis for weeks during working hours which disrupted my work. Today he decided to call me without a caller ID. Thought it was something emergency as public services would call without caller IDs too I picked up. He demanded an answer from me, I simply said his work wasn’t what I’m looking for and thanks for portfolio and he hung up on me without a word. He then emailed me and called me unprofessional for not getting back to him. I’ll avoid using Bark at all if there’s an obligation to respond to all 50 vendors for each request. Spam alert. More...

We had the pleasure of Mark taking photos for our wedding ceremony on 25/06/22. When we originally made the booking with Mark, he was extremely professional and very informative. He is such a lovely guy and very personable, nothing is too much!

On the day, Mark arrived early and was able to take pictures of the grooms party prior to my arrival.

During the ceremony we didn’t even notice Mark was there as he was not intrusive but managed to capture beautiful photos that we will cherish forever. After the ceremony Mark let us take control to decide what we wanted to capture and with who. You didn’t feel uncomfortable or unnatural.

The communication has been brilliant, I honestly cannot fault Mark for anything. He is amazing and the photos are incredible.

Less than a week after the ceremony, we received the photos. Amazing!

I would not hesitate to book Mark for a future event.

Mark was literally on the phone within 15 mins I think from my post.
He's initially very friendly but he has a tendency to talk 'at' you and didn't even ask any qualifying questions initially about my needs, and made some very bold statements about his experience. (I worked in sales training and coaching for a very long time so experienced in this)
I was very clear this was an initial enquiry. At no stage was there any commitment from me - why would there be until you have viewed the portfolio. He quickly sent me through his website link and within an hour was on the phone again asking if I had looked. I hadn't, despite having sent an email to say thank you and that I would be in-touch once I had had the opportunity to review it.
I found him very intense and far too pushy. I have then subsequently had numerous calls from him. Fair enough - you do need to follow up work but he does really need to ease off as he is very 'over the top' and comes across as intrusive and far too persistent. This is very old school and sadly reflects the quality of his website. Stylistically, it was not what I was looking for at all.
I get another follow up text today - asking did I have a date in mind. I replied and very politely said I was not going to pursue and I have found another photographer. He then replies - asking why? This is fair enough and happy to feedback, but his approach is very arrogant and frankly rude - quote "Very disappointed, could I ask why for my future bids, I said my fee was negotiable, maybe I was too experienced for a small project! Did you view my website? If, these projects are too small - then it might be beneficial to not express interest and pitch for them in the first place! Mark was absolutely amazing from day one of getting in touch with him. He was very professional and understanding of our needs and nothing was too much of an ask. I found Mark to be very friendly and easy to work with. He did an excellent job with the pictures of outside of our new store. He exceeded our expectations. We will defiantly be using Mark again. mark is friendly and polite to talk to and reliable

I had the absolute 'pleasure' of meeting Mark Westwood though 'Bark' as in this case I needed my flat photographed for an Airbnb advertisement so I wanted to get a few quotes to see the potential cost of thus if I decided to go down the route of hiring someone.

So Mark called me and he gave me a quote and I explained to him clearly that my flat wasn't even furnished yet and that at this point I was only after a quote as I told him precisely my plan was to first let a friend of mine (when the flat was ready) to come over with his expensive professional cannon camera to take the pictures to see how they turn out. Obviously if they were great then I would use them and save on the cost of hiring someone.

After initially speaking with mark, he emailed though a link to his website (which to be honest, the quality of thus is almost as bad his attitude) and I responded with "I will be in touch if the plans I have in place don’t go ahead". Pretty clear from my end.

2 days later he calls me again to see how im getting on... I said its no where near furnished yet the same state as two days ago and I repeated that I would be in touch if his assistance was required.

At this point I get that he's keen for the job and doesn't want to miss out which is fair enough but on the other hand he should listen to what I say. Another few days goes by and he calls me again. This is where I picked up on the first red flag of his attitude problem when I repeated the whole situation to him again as nothing had changed and he told me how I should go about getting photos for my flat done. I was thinking to myself... 'is this man who wants work really telling me I shouldn't be getting quotes for a job just incase my friend doesn't come though for me'??

Anyway, a week or so goes by and he rings me AGAIN. This time his true colours really shone through. I explained the flat isn't even ready yet to be photographed and he replied with 'this is not how you treat professionals' and 'I should've got the pictures done by my friend with his 'iPhone' first before getting quotes'. After this he quickly just hung up on me so I sent him a text message basically saying his attitude and etiquette stinks and that I was very clear from the start on my position.

In short he responded asking why I didn't use my friend with the expensive camera from day one (this was always the plan as I stated many times when the flat was ready) and that he has 2 houses in London and 1 in Jersey and he doesn't need my work!

That response just completely summed that mans persona and professionalism in a short sentence and led me to write thus review to warn others of this toxic individual. More...

We will always be grateful to Mark for photographing our wedding and for making such an important day even more special and memorable. Mark was 100% professional from beginning to end, and we are delighted with our photos! He gave us a really good package deal and let us have our own input into the type of natural shots that we wanted. He was friendly and approachable and made tremendous efforts to capture every significant moment during the ceremony and afterwards - but very sensitively and without being at all intrusive. After the wedding, for a very reasonable price, we received a lovely large digital selection of beautiful photos from Mark - portrait and group shots and both colour and black & white. The photos have movement within them and capture the personality and the life in each person.
