On Christmas Day our family had a very big surprise. My son married his soul mate Charlotte and Lucy was the lady that married them. What a very happy and professional lady she was, Lucy knew us all by first name (after talking to my son Paul about his family) everything ran very smoothly and Lucy went through everything with us and she spoke to my young granddaughters about reading a poem Lucy made them feel very a ease as they had never done anything like this before. What do you love most about your job?
Meeting people, hearing their story and then translating and crafting it into a beautiful love story for their friends and family to hear - to provide tears and laughter at such a special occasion.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have a background in journalism and am very used to speaking in front of large audiences and love meeting people from all cultures and backgrounds - being a Celebrant encompasses all these aspects and suits me down to the ground!
Why should our clients choose you?
Because I am serious about my craft - I take each commission as a stand alone; all words will be written specially for them, and not huge chunks plagiarised from other ceremonies or the Internet. Some may think having a celebrant is an extravagant extra, but think of what I provide as the heart and soul of the ceremony providing the essence of the occasion. This is not something Registrars, with their time constraints and legal obligations are able to provide.

In the first instance we will chat over the phone, establish whether I am the right 'fit' for the client. If this is the case, then upon a 50% deposit, a questionnaire will be sent and then a meeting arranged - it is this meeting that is the crux of the whole relationship; understanding the couple and their needs, exploring what fun options we can include to make it a day like no other, and certainly like no other brides.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I would ask if any guests have tested positive that, for the sake of the family and other guests, sad as it may be, that they do not attend the event.
