Home Protection
If you own a home together, you may be able to protect it for your family to inherit. There are many reasons that we want to protect our home, from the possibility of future care fees to your partner getting re-married after you die. I explain your options in plain English.
Lasting Powers of Attorney - LPAs
There are two types, Property & Financial Affairs and Health & Welfare. Your partner and family have no legal rights to look after you or your assets if you lose mental capacity. I explain both LPAs in detail so that you can make an informed decision. Your LPAs will need to be Registered with the Office of the Public Guardian before they can be used. I will guide you through the entire process to make it as stress free as is possible.
Inheritance Tax allowance - IHT
How will IHT affect you and your family. I can show you how to maximise your IHT allowances for the benefit of your chosen beneficiaries.
Guardians
For children under 18 you can nominate the people who you would want to raise your children, if both parents were to die prematurely. Without Guardians in your Will, your minor children may have to go into child care while the courts decide who will raise your children. Guardians can be anyone over the age of 18 years, it does not have to be a relative.
