What inspired you to start your own business?
The desire to get involved with micro, small and medium sized businesses and in so doing, create my own consulting business, way back in 2007.
Why should our clients choose you?
30 years experience (20 years in senior management) in a financial institution. Owned and ran my own small business for 5 years and then completed my training in the UK as a business consultant. I have been providing business support to the owners of micro, small and medium sized businesses for over 18 years. I provide a service that is tailored to the needs of the business and business owner - my service is not a 'one size fits all' product. Finally, I have absolute confidence in my skills - I will work with a business owner 'on risk' for a month and if he/she is not satisfied with the progress, I will not send an invoice.

I can meet at the business owner's premises (Those within a 40 mile radius of Manchester) and a mix of Zoom meetings and onsite as necessary. Or remote meetings via Zoom, Skype or Teams.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Common sense. Zoom meetings are always an alternative option.
Business strategy - goal setting and achieving results
Establish short, medium, and long-term goals for growing the business.
Hold regular Goals and Actions Review and Planning sessions.
Identify obstacles to success and develop practical action plans to remedy. Measure growth results.
Succession Planning
Establish the Business Owner's or Director's plans for the future of the business (E.G. to sell business, or retire and draw a passive income, or hand over to family successor etc).
Develop a succession strategy to ensure the business can deliver the result the Owner/Director requires.
Assist to set actions in progress to achieve the results required.
Personnel Performance Management (Sales/Office/factory)
Assess the business performance management system in terms of the Business Owner or Director's requirements. Recommend improvements.
Coach and assist management to implement the changes.
Review results regularly.
Recruiting & Selecting - the right people
Review the business's recruiting & selection strategy.
Recommend improvements / implement processes.
If required - assist/coach management until they are comfortable with the changed processes.
Non Executive Director duties
Attend all directors meetings. Assist to review and develop business strategy. Review business operations and financial results monthly/quarterly and provide advice.
Costing and Pricing
Review how the business costs its products and services and then sets its prices. Review Profit and Loss trends over a period to ensure the business is priced for profit.
Marketing
Assist the business owner to develop a comprehensive marketing plan, appropriate for the business, to increase enquiries and thus sales.
Mediation
From time to time business partners/directors have strong differences of opinion; Family owned businesses too. I help to take the emotion out of the discussions and resolve the differences of opinion for the benefit of the business and the partners/directors.
Coaching
Coach, consult and mentor business owners in directing and managing their businesses.
