⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently had a 1:1 with Winston and I cannot believe the difference from one visit! A little background: The main issues included my dog barking at strangers who come into the house. Barking and lunging at other dogs (only in the immediate area around the estate. Winston came to the house and pretty much straight away was sitting down comfortably on the couch with my dog behaving himself. The tactics Winston provided me with worked almost instantly. Winston advised me to implement some changes to my dogs food and set more boundaries. He is now on a diet more appropriate to his age and energy requirements. I also only feed him at our designated feeding time and don’t let him graze all day. He is no longer sleeping in my bed (huge success)! I don’t have many visitors, so it is difficult to make quick progress there. But the new tactics work every time if he kicks off. He doesn’t react to dogs on our walk anymore. He has made a great improvement and appears more calm overall. Winston spent almost 2 hours with us getting to the root of these problems. We even went for a walk and Winston picked up lots of little things I could do differently and helped me to improve our loose lead walking. Just one visit has completely made the biggest difference to my mindset and our relationship. We are both happier and more relaxed. We couldn’t have done it without you Winston ☺️ More...

We are just home from a fantastic beachside holiday with our Murphy.. However only 10 weeks ago that holiday might not have happened. . Murphy was always quite a reactive bichon frise (2.5 years old..) however after our baby was born it was intolerable with barking, pulling and even biting our friends.. We had a 1:1 and attended a couple of group sessions but after snapping at the baby we decided to try the residential training.. We were not too sure what to expect but the change in Murphy after those 3 short weeks was fantastic.. We missed him terribly but it was so important for him to socialise and learn new behaviours in a fully immersive environment.. The residential enabled Murphy to have so much dog and people socialisation that now when we walk it is a pleasure and not a panic! We have had many comments on how Murphy has positively changed and I would thoroughly recommend the residential training however it is very important to continue the training methods and techniques recommended! We are enjoying our Saturday sessions, 1:1’s and training walks - this is only the beginning but we are committed and feel so grateful to Lea Valley Dog Training to coming into our lives at the right time! We can’t thank you enough! 💕 More...

January I decided to go back to training with my 2 Labradors Bella age 3 & Jackson 3.5 years. I was practically being dragged around the streets. 1 dog lead reactive when seeing dogs and the other so excited she was spinning and crossing in front of me whilst walking it become a chore to walk them and no fun what so ever I dreaded walkies I felt so anxious. My first point of call was the lovely Charmaine who was so understanding and talked me through lots of options the team could offer as I was too anxious to attend classes. I then met the fabulous Winston there is nothing he does not know about training dogs for a 1-2-1 with Jackson and he gave me lots of great advice but I was still struggling more me than the dog as I was nervous each time I walked out the door. I decided to send both dogs off individually to a week of training walks 7 days a week including classes. I couldn’t believe my eyes watching Jackson in a class with lots of other dogs and no reactive behaviour. Both dogs were picked up early and dropped off in the evening at my door. Both dogs have improved so much I saw a difference by day 3, I was totally amazed. I’ve seen such a difference I’m actually now enjoying walking my lovely dogs again and even attending classes which I would never have ever thought possible 2 weeks ago. Winston has also given me the training tips I required to work with & enjoy my dogs again and definitely given me the confidence to attend classes. Lee valley dog training school has a great team of wonderful dedicated trainers. No matter what the issue is with your dog or what stage you are at with training there is no judgement by anyone. Classes are great fun and everyone is very supportive of each other it just feels like a big family get together each week. I’m also now attending puppy classes and just received a certificate for Luna passing her puppy training foundation course. I’m so thankful for all the support by the whole team and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a dog training school you won’t find anywhere that is as dedicated to dogs as this team. More...

I contacted lea valley initially regarding issues I was having with food aggression, lead pulling and an anxious newfoundland that is scared of everything, Winston must have been a dog in a previous life it’s the only explanation I’ve got with how in tune he is with dogs, their behaviours and how they learn. . it baffling and mesmerising. He is completely at ease with the largest of dogs.. and is unphased by barking and nervous dogs.. he makes you genuinely feel like your crazy dog is not a lost cause.. and speaking from experience when u fee like your at your wits end.. that’s your time to contact Winston and Charmaine..they have a completely non judgemental approach even when some of your actions create the negative behaviour you so desperately want to train your dog out of.. tiny our Newfoundland will be boarding with Charmaine and Winston for intense training whilst we go on holiday.. honestly I had crying nights and anxiety through the roof thinking no kennel will be able to handle my ditzy annoying newfoundland and I felt it would be even worse to put our nervous dog into one…they moved mountains even when they said they couldn’t have her.. they found a way and il be forever grateful for that, our family holiday would have been full of anxiety.. if anyone can help us it’s them. I know this is a long post… and I’m in no way connected to Winston Charmaine or lea valley dog school … I’m just a fed up dog mum that happened to stumble across the right trainers whilst desperately hunting on google… il be writing another after tinys stayed with them to let anyone reading this first review how she got on… fingers crossed for holidays as a family tiny included on the beach … living the dream ❤️ More...

Winston and Team are just fabulous, can't recommend them enough. The 1-2-1 home visit when we first got the pup was great, really useful and confidence giving, it helped us work through potential challenges particularly with using the crate. Following this we have attended weekly puppy training group sessions and it has been a delight to see both the pup and my daughter develop and learn together, and looking forward to further fun now he has moved up to Middle School! There is a lovely informal vibe at the school, whilst still being very professional, and any nerves my daughter had about taking part were completely negated. The flexibility is also great - you can pay as you go and don't have to sign up for a set period, or attend every week which means you really can fit around other commitments. More...

We got our GSD when he was 10 months old & spent 5 months wondering what we had done until LVDTS was recommended. I can honestly say it has made our household a much happier place.
Max would bark all day, pull like a train on the lead which made it difficult to walk him, had little to no recall and go completely crazy at the cats.
Initially we had a 1-2-1 with Winston & we were completely amazed at the difference afterwards.
After 8 weeks of group training sessions Max is a completely different dog & we are much more confident owners using what we learn in group sessions every day.
Max also loves his training sessions and can’t wait to get in the car on a Saturday and Sunday morning.
We can’t thank LVDTS enough for all the help and advice given. We look forward to continuing our journey with LVDTS 🙌

Hi
I have a dog called Reggie who is a cockerpoo, he arrived in our home when he was 3 months old and had lots of bad habits, which just got worse over the next 3 years.
We tried so-called experts, but no good, until someone told my daughter about Lea Valley Dog Training at Broxbourne.
I spoke to Charmaine who was so positive and their reviews were brilliant. So we arranged to meet at the training ground, and met Deana and Winston, who were also very positive and convinced they could stop Reggie’s bad habits. I’ll tell you what they were.
1. He constantly whined at everything
2. He would attack the tv at any animal
3. Barked almost all the time at any noise
4. Jumped all over visitors and whined and screamed
5. He would follow me everywhere, and slept in our bedroom
Anyway, to cut a long story short he stayed with Winston and Charmaine for three weeks with Deana training him as well. He came home Christmas week. Well it was like a new dog he now sleeps downstairs no problem, he was so quiet, no whining, only barking if someone came to the door. The big test was the family coming for Christmas dinner, and he past with honours, everyone said how well behaved he was. He is still a work in progress, but I cannot thank everyone enough for the work they put in. My house is now peaceful, and my daughters can visit again. Thank you so much LEA VALLEY DOG TRAINING SCHOOL.. I will definitely be going to your training course, as I need training as much as Reggie. Highly recommended.
