What do you love most about your job?
Helping owners understand their dogs better is hugely rewarding. There's a wealth of information out there about the best way to train your dog, which can often be contradictory and a little bit daunting. For me, the moment where the training 'clicks' for the first time and owners see exactly what is possible for their dog, is a pawfect kind of magic.
What inspired you to start your own business?
From a young age, I've always been fascinated by dog training. I grew up watching Victoria Stilwell's It's Me or the Dog and marvelled at the way dogs learned. As I navigated through 'normal' day jobs, it was always something that was in the back of my mind and post-COVID, I decided to finally take the plunge into the world of professional dog training.
Why should our clients choose you?
What many people don't realise is that dog training is an unregulated industry. This means that anybody, regardless of experience, qualifications or knowledge can brand themselves as a dog trainer and offer services to clients.
I'm trained and accredited through the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT), which teaches up-to-date, science-backed, positive reward-based training. To achieve this accreditation, IMDT members must pass an in-depth practical and theoretical assessment process (repeated every two years) and submit annual evidence of their continued professional development. As such, you can be assured that the service I provide is of the highest quality.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I am more than happy to offer virtual training. My role as a trainer isn't necessarily to train dogs - it's to empower owners with the skills and knowledge they need to train their own dogs. As the practical training itself is conducted by the owner, I am ideally placed to teach online.
