When my husband and I first met Julie for an introductory chat we were immediately put at ease and warmed to her, knowing that she would be able to capture our wedding in the the relaxed and natural way we were looking for. And WOW did she deliver on this! We decided to book Julie for an engagement shoot primaily to get used to being in front of the camera but also to get some photos for our invites etc. We spent the afternoon walking around Grizedale forest taking photos, feeling more like we were on a walk with an old friend than on an engagement shoot. The photos we got from this were absolutely stunning and were used throughout all of our wedding stationery, as well as being firm favourites on the wall of our home. We would definitely recommend booking Julie for this extra, it was well worth it for us and the photos will be treasured forever. When it came to the wedding, Julie was very communicative and organised. We met with her at the venue the day before to do a walkthrough of plans and have a chat, putting our minds further at rest that all of our dream shots would be captured. Julie came to my parents' home the morning of the wedding to get some getting ready shots, and then headed off to the venue to get some pictures of my husband and his groomsmen before the ceremony. Throughout the day Julie was fun to be around, knew the best moments to take a few pictures, and helped guide us through the day as a whole. We couldn't be happier with the photos we got (and there were SO many!) and know that we 100% chose the best person for the job. We have just got married and booked Julie as our photographer, she is so warm and friendly and put us at easy from the beginning , we was sent sneak peaks the very same night ! We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better photographer than Julie for our wedding day. She made everything feel so easy and straightforward from start to finish and her candid style was excellent. In the loveliest way we didn't even notice her snapping away half the time! Everyone absolutely loved her. She got along so well with our guests, family, and wedding party, making everyone feel at ease. Julie also came so well prepared, even bringing umbrellas for our lakeside shots when the rain started. Julie was absolutely amazing and very professional! My husband is quite shy and she managed to make both of us very comfortable. We actually had fun taking our pictures! And how beautiful they turned out! Julie managed to capture our real expressions, you can feel the emotions on the pictures. She also made sure to take all the group photos we had previously asked her, which we ourselves had forgotten about. So if it wasn’t for her we wouldn’t have them! Julie was our secret wedding photographer and the whole experience was magical. Julie kept in touch in the lead up, including a detailed questionnaire so she got to understand what we wanted. On the day, she felt as much a part of it as we did. She knew the venue and the team there, making it seamless. She took her time, identified the best times and places for photos, and made our little boy really happy during the ceremony. What can I say! I am absolutely blown away by Julie's talents, she captured our wedding BEAUTIFULLY and really saw the vision that we were going for - fun, relaxed, beautiful, emotional and personal to us. She took us down to do a photo shoot at a beautiful spot on the lake and it was one of the best parts of our day, so much fun, but she knew how to make it efficient so we didn't lose much time with our guests. I absolutely love all of our group shots and candid photos of both us and the guests. We had a large wedding and I don't know how she managed to capture everything as just one woman, she just knew exactly where to be and when. She also had a wonderful way with the guests, never bossy, but always in control when she needed to be, she took the photos they wanted too which was lovely. Myself and my other half where very nervous when looking for a wedding photographer. Getting married and having all eyes on us, has always made us nervous and after 13 years we finally took the plunge. As two relaxed and silly people with a very rambunctious toddler I was worried having a photgrapher wouldn't be for us, a bit stressful and formal... Julie went above and beyond for our wedding in October, the pictures really do speak for themselves. She was so lovely, and made me & my bridesmaids feel comfortable on the day. I don’t usually like having my photo taken, but apart from the noise of the lens, you’d hardly notice she was there. She moved furniture in the room to ensure she had the perfect unobstructed position to take photos and moved the furniture back herself. Our location shots are amazing, we were unbothered and completely private from the public - she has some fantastic connections to get the best photos! Our evening do went a bit awry, but she stayed behind to help ensure she got the pictures we wanted, and without her I doubt we would’ve gotten to the cake cutting/first dance before 9pm! If we could give her more than five stars we would. Julie’s work is absolutely outstanding, she is so talented. Every single picture is perfect. We are struggling to pick our favourites. Julie was more than the perfect photographer from the start of the day right through to the finish. Julie continues to keep in touch with us. There is a whole range of images from our wedding day including absolutely everyone and some really special moments, we requested Julie took some family shots as we aren’t always in the same place! From our first phonecall with Julie, we knew she would be the perfect person to capture our special day. Our priorities were that our photos would capture the natural feel of the day, and that nothing felt forced. We had a very small, intimate wedding with our closest friends and family and wanted photos from the day to capture raw emotion from us and our guests. We hoped that our photos would also capture the beauty of the gorgeous venue we had chosen and its beautiful setting with the fells and Ullswater in the background.
We had the most perfect day from start to finish and Julie went above and beyond to make sure her photography aligned with our brief. It was clear that Julie really cared about us and making our day so special. She is such a lovely person that we felt so comfortable with her and it was like she was one of our guests! So many of our guests also commented on how lovely she was and that she was so discreet in taking her candid photos that they barely noticed she was there when they were engrossed in the day! Any prompts were so gentle and really made the difference looking back at the photos captured.
We had made the decision fairly last minute that we would pay a little extra to have Julie stay with us longer to capture our ride on the steamer. Julie was so accommodating and we are so glad we made this decision!!
Julie managed to get a large number of sneak peek photos to us within 24 hours , all edited and ready on her link that we were able to share with our guests. We absolutely LOVE the photos we’ve received so far and can’t wait to see the rest!
I cannot recommend Julie enough, she is so talented and hard working and has an amazing eye for detail. If you are wanting documentary style, candid photos to capture your day as well as some elegantly posed photos, Julie is absolutely the person you should trust to fulfil your wishes.

We had the most amazing experience with Julie as our elopement wedding photographer. Not only were the photos stunning but her overall professionalism, friendly warm manner really put us both at ease. It's fair to say for the time that she was with us on our special day she added to it in the most positive way 😀 She came approximately an hour before the ceremony and took some before shots, chatting with us to calm the nerves and even helped zip up my dress! Where do we start with the lovely, sweet, and amazingly talented, Julie?! We chose Julie to photograph our recent wedding at Merewood Country House Hotel in the Lake District, and we're so glad we did. We recently eloped to the Lakes. Just us, the kids and our dogs. We had the most perfect day and it was all captured beautifully by Julie. She put all of us at ease, including my incredible shy step daughter. We had a phone call in the lead up to the wedding so she could find out the kind of photos that we wanted, on the day she captured those and more. We chose Julie to photograph our wedding because we felt a female photographer would put everyone at ease. We didn’t meet with Julie before our wedding, as we do not live in The Lake District, but knew from our email correspondence that she was the right person for us; friendly, honest and open.
We married in February, with torrential downpours that lasted all day, yet Julie was absolutely fabulous! She came fully-equipped and ran back and forth from where we were staying, to the church and the venue.
She smiled constantly and had a very relaxed, warm and cheerful manner, which we feel made everyone comfortable and helped produce the great results we see in our photos.
Julie managed to capture the essence of our entire day, producing some wonderful ‘sneak peeks’ the day after our wedding.
We have just received the ‘complete works’ and are astounded by the results! No stone has been left unturned and we have a complete narrative of our most special day. The photos reflect the love and joy that surrounded us and we are loving re-living the magic of our wedding day, as the emotions of that day re-emerge each time we look at our stunning images. We got married just recently and could not recommend Julie enough. We eloped just me, my partner and our little 10 month old girl. Julie put us at ease straight away and even helped us with little things like dressing our daughter, helping my partner with his pocket square and tye and even helping me to not fall over in the mud 🤣 We had the most awful weather however Julie has managed to capture wonderful pictures. I cannot wait to see all of them in 8 weeks. We were also taken to the most lovely location for our after ceremony pictures.
