The secret to taking a great photograph isn’t just one thing—it’s a blend of a few key elements coming together. Here’s a breakdown:
Light is everything: Great lighting can make or break a shot. Natural light, especially during golden hour (shortly after sunrise or before sunset), tends to be soft and flattering.
Composition matters: Think about the rule of thirds, leading lines, symmetry, framing, and negative space. Good composition draws the viewer’s eye and tells a story.
Emotion and timing: Capturing a real moment or expression often resonates more than a perfectly posed shot. Anticipating and reacting to moments is a huge part of great photography.
Know your gear: Whether it’s a phone or a DSLR, knowing how to use your camera—how to control focus, exposure, and depth of field—lets you translate your vision into reality.

What inspired you to start your own business?
Photography started as a creative outlet, but the more I shot, the more I realized this is what I’m meant to do. Starting my own business let me turn that passion into purpose. In response to COVID-19, I’ve made a few important changes to help protect you, your loved ones, and myself during our sessions:
1. Flexible Rescheduling
If anyone feels unwell or needs to postpone due to exposure, I offer easy, penalty-free rescheduling.
2. Sanitized Gear & Clean Practices
All my gear is cleaned and sanitized before and after each session. I also carry hand sanitizer and use it frequently throughout shoots.
3. Outdoor & Distanced Options
Whenever possible, I recommend outdoor locations for extra safety and beautiful natural light. I’m also mindful of keeping a safe distance while still capturing great shots.
4. Limited Contact & Online Workflow
All contracts, payments, and galleries are handled digitally to reduce in-person contact.
5. Mask-Wearing Upon Request
I’m happy to wear a mask during your shoot if that makes you more comfortable just let me know ahead of time.
