James was our photographer for our wedding at Whiston Barn in Oct 2018. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. He captured the day perfectly and got all the shots we’d requested . Not only is he an amazing photographer, he’s an amazing person. So easy to get along with and makes you feel at ease! All our friends and family commented on how lovely he was and how beautiful our photographs are. We met James at a Wortley Hall wedding fayre and reviewed his portfolio, but his personality proved that his heart and soul was in his work which came to fruition when he produced the most fabulously natural photos of our son & daughter-in-law at their pre-wedding shoot and such beautiful works of art from the actual wedding in November at Wortley Hall capturing the rustic feel of the place. James was our wedding photographer in December and I cannot recommend him enough! From the pre-shoot, communication running up to the day and the wedding itself he really goes that extra mile. Our photos are beautiful and we love the way he captured all the small details. All our guests have commented on his professional yet relaxed and fun manner. The weather wasn’t on side for our day but James did everything he could to make the photos outside as quick and calm as possible whilst still making everyone laugh! For me personally, I wouldn’t have got through the morning without him. Between taking shots he was running round after us all, communicating with the venue and nothing we asked of him was too much. James was not only our photographer that day but also felt like the wedding coordinator and a guest making a real effort with us and our families. We used James and also a second photographer Stu who was employed by James at our request for our recent wedding and I have to say our photos are amazing. The group/formal photos were organised with minimal fuss and absolutely no disruption to the day. The majority of the photos were taken without us even knowing either of the photographers were there. Having heard a couple of horror stories recently about people not getting good photographs (from other photographers) I was more than delighted with every single one of the 730 photos James presented to us. They are absolutely AWESOME. We literally cannot stop looking at them. James and Stu what talented men you are! I'm already trying to think of an excuse for a photo shoot. We booked James for our wedding in August and he was amazing!!! Made us feel relaxed from start to finish.He was in touch with us right up to the wedding so we could give him ideas of what we wanted and even did pre wedding shoot which was fun! It was like having another friend at the wedding Nothing was too much trouble even lent an hand on the day when i was getting a little stressed!!!. Our photos was outstanding and we were over the moon at what he had actually captured as he just blended in and was hardly noticeable( sign of a good photographer iv been told) Some photographers having you hanging around for different shots and it can become quite tedious. He does exactly what shots you ask for. Would definatly recomend James 100%? More...

James Shaw is brilliant. He was everything we were looking for in a wedding photographer and more. From the initial meet to the big day, James was incredibly professional. He took time to get to know us as a couple and discussed with us the creative ways in which he could capture our day. I cannot recommend James enough. He has been an absolute dream to work with. As soon as we booked James we had regular correspondence and he made us feel very at ease with everything. The pre engagement shoot was such good fun and got us warmed up in preparation for the big day. On the day James was amazing, very calm and just got on with things, snapping away in the background but also directing for the more formal shots. We are delighted with the finished product the photos are stunning they really have captured every moment of the day. we couldn't be happier. I believe we were one of the first wedding shoots that James did 4 years ago but you wouldn't have thought so for a moment. He was extremely professional from the very first meeting up until he finished for the evening on the the day of the wedding. Getting the photographs back, we couldn't have been happier and his eye for details was fantastic. Off the back of how good they we were, we've recommended James to 2 other couples and shown them our photos and they both had him as their photographer for their day as well.
