Tutoring

My son has really enjoyed his A-level Maths lessons with Jamal. The lessons are always well-prepared, and Jamal’s approach is both friendly and encouraging, which has made a real difference to my son's confidence and understanding. He’s been able to explain tricky concepts in a way that clicks, and we’ve already seen great progress. We’ll definitely be booking more lessons moving forward! More...

Q&As

I believe in using a person-centred, strengths-based approach to teaching. I want the student to feel empowered to problem-solve and come up with creative solutions independently. I aim to foster a non-judgmental environment, where students feel comfortable to ask any question they want. Whenever possible, I try to teach from first principles so the student understands the subject at a fundamental level.

In September 2025, I will be starting a Neuroscience PhD at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, UCL. The best way I can use my time and my mind between now and then, is to support young students prepare for their upcoming exams.

I am very good at explaining complicated concepts in simple everyday language, often using relatable analogies to explain things. I have a high quality, broad academic training which means I can teach multiple subjects. I have over 250 hours experience in tutoring and mentoring from working as a Digital Analytics Trainer at Dyson. I also have experience working in NHS mental health services, so I know how to create a non-judgmental environment where the student feels safe. I have an Enhanced DBS issued on 22nd January 2025.

Yes, all of my tutoring services are available online and remotely.
