We have just had an overhaul of our Victorian home. Chimney work, pointing, partial roof replacement and skylights. The whole process was a pleasure. Every member of the team was polite and helpful. I had 2 problems in January, my mom was based in her living room after a fall, and after a couple of days of heavy rain her bungalow roof began to leak – straight in to her living room space. I contacted J Williams because they were recommended by a friend. and they did not disappoint. Their quote was competitive, and I liked the photo’s they took, so you could see the damage, what they were repairing and the area they would repair (highlighted on a photo). Once booked, they did everything they could to keep me up to date with plans for the work to be done – and advised me that if they could get to us quicker (if they had completed all work they were committed to) they would, and they did. Everything was done as described, and the site was spotless when the work was completed (even cleaned the guttering while they were up there). I received and accepted a competitive price against a comprehensive specification. Before the work started the admin team kept me fully informed of everything. Absolutely excellent!!! My neighbour and I decided to have our roof tiles replaced with new and have our bay windows cladded. Despite the bad weather, from start to finish of the works, Steve and his colleagues were absolutely fantastic. The quality and workmanship of their works is excellent and very neat. They use good quality materials as well. They made sure the roofs were kept waterproof after every shift. They also cleaned up any mess after every shift. It gave me peace of mind to have trustworthy and good roofers doing the work. I had absolutely no problems with them and I have nothing negative to say about them. I am happy to leave a very positive review for this company. Everyone, from the office and estimating staff to the work-guys, was open, friendly, knowledgeable and polite. Sam and Chris carried out the roof work, including replacing a 100year old purlin, with smiles and precision. Their work is excellent, and they left the garden tidy. Jason, the main man, came to check the job's progress. He was also great and obviously runs his organisation well, and employs people he knows he can trust. It is also worth mentioning that Sam was immediately up-front when he saw that the window frame he thought he could work on was, in fact, beyond repair. I needed a new roof of the highest quality, so I put out a call on a local website for recommendations: J Williams Roofing Services was recommended by 3 different people along with another company with 2 recommendations. I contacted both. Jason contacted me the next day. I never heard from the other. From the start Jason understood my needs and provided a detailed, professional quote.From start to finish the work was exemplary. I'm a keen DIYer and very fussy, but I have to say their work was of the highest quality. The initial estimate for the job was 4 to 5 weeks. It took 8, but at no time was this conveyed to me as a problem and nothing was rushed. Jason's team were courteous, cleared up the best they could at the end of each day and did a real good clean at the end. I asked for many "extras" during the work, nothing was forgotten - I didn't need to keep asking.I suspect that this excellent company are probably not the cheapest (although no second quote to compare - to be fair), but as with everything, you get what you pay for and as the old adage goes, you appreciate the value long after the cost is forgotten.
