What do you love most about your job?
1. The Troubleshooting: One of the most satisfying parts of my job is the problem-solving aspect. Every repair presents a unique challenge—no two hot tubs (or issues) are exactly the same. I enjoy the hands-on process of diagnosing a problem, figuring out the root cause, and applying the right fix. It’s a bit like detective work with wires and water. There’s something incredibly rewarding about turning a malfunctioning tub into a perfectly running one again.
2. The Customer Interactions: I also really enjoy working directly with customers. A hot tub is a luxury item that people are emotionally invested in—it’s tied to their relaxation, their health, and even their social life. Being able to restore that for them, and seeing the relief or excitement when it’s up and running again, is a great feeling. Plus, I get to meet all kinds of people, and every job feels a bit more personal because of that.
3. The Freedom and Variety: Running my own business gives me a level of freedom and flexibility that’s hard to beat. I get to set my own schedule, choose the kinds of jobs I want to take on, and work in a way that suits my style. There's also a lot of variety in the day-to-day—I might be working on a residential spa one day and troubleshooting a commercial hot tub the next. That mix keeps things fresh and keeps me on my toes.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After working in the automotive industry—first as a body shop paint sprayer and later in a car sales garage—I realized how much I value hands-on work, problem-solving, and connecting with customers. But I also wanted more freedom and control over my time and the direction of my career.
Starting my own hot tub repair business felt like the right move. It combined the technical, hands-on skills I’d developed in my previous roles with the satisfaction of helping people directly. Plus, being my own boss means I can offer the kind of service I’d want as a customer—reliable, honest, and personalized. It’s been a great way to turn what I’m good at into something I genuinely enjoy doing every day.

We can give basic advice remotely, but the nature of spas is that a hands on approach is often required. That is why we offer our £95 call out option, which includes up to an hour of service engineer time and can often sort the problem or at least provide an in depth diagnosis which will allow a detailed estimate to be prepared.
