I have a small lawn which had grown too long to mow & Robert quoted me £120 to strim it.
I assumed it would be a fairly long job for that price.
He arrived promptly and carried out the work and I have no problem with the standard of work he did.
It only took him 1 hour and 20 minutes and after he finished, I checked the price again with him and he confirmed £120.
I have paid it, but I wonder, as a 75 year old pensioner, have I been taken advantage of?
I haven’t used a professional gardener before, so maybe a price which works out at £90 / hour is the going rate these days.

Thank you for you review. We are a little disappointed that you seem to have a issue that you felt you couldn't give us a call or talk to us in pearson. Robert came out had a look at your garden and gave you your quotation on a separate day. If you were not happy with the quote why did you agree to have the garden done?. After all works had been carried out you said you were very happy?. Why would you not have said anything sooner? We do not work on a hourly rate. Please consider are equipment is not cheap the streamer Robert used cost over £800 plus petrol and regular services for that Pacific equipment plus his experience public liability etc . This is all combined into the quote. I would also like to add your age has nothing to do with the price why would it? Hilliards responded very promptly to my request via Bark to take down some trees in my garden.
Very friendly and accommodating, they returned at the weekend to complete the work.
The trees were next to a lake so presented a slight challenge. Adapted well and did a great job.

Thank you for your review. I contacted sean about the works that needed to be carried out. After a site visit we agreed to fence the area so his dogs could not escape. He was not in the property yet so we worked around the previous owner. Sean wanted works to be carried out before he moved in the property. The job was completed and we contacted sean. I contacted sean a week after he moved into the property about additional works and to see if he was happy with the fence. He said he was not happy as there were to holes in the fence. We agreed to go out to rectify the fault. When on property the holes had nothing to do with the new fencing we provided. However the badgers damaged the old chain link fence that did not require replacing. Repaired one whole but could not gain access to the second. We told sean that he would have to cut a 30ft hedge to complete this work as we could not do the work he wanted with out taking the hedge back plus additional materials. Sean did not seem keen to go ahead so we didnt want to as he thought the works would of been carried out. We aim to always try our best with every job we do sorry you feel this way.
