The sessions really helped me to overcome my fears of becoming a dad, bonding with my new born and reducing anxiety .
Would highly recommend Nicholas to others

It was a surprise when my wife fell pregnant. It took a while for me to get my head round it. I'd not used therapy before, but because I did, I felt more prepared when our daughter was born and I can't believe how much I love her now! Thank you!

Therapy was one of the best things I've done. It wasn't always easy, but how Nicholas listened and pulled things together was great. Talking about how I felt as a Dad was a relief. More...

Having our little girl brought a lot of stress and me and my partner were arguing quite a lot. Therapy for us together meant we could understand each other more and know what triggered each other. Most I think was making time to really hear and our communication is better now than before our little girl. More...

I was really struggling after my baby was born, feeling down and finding it hard to be a new mum. Nicholas really helped me with how I felt just by listening and thinking with me. I now enjoy being off with my baby, something I didn't think would happen. More...

Individual Therapy
I will support you in making sense of the difficult emotions and thoughts that you are expereincing, bringing understanding by placing them in the context of your whole life. I have worked with adults for many years, initially as part of my training as a Psychologist, then in the NHS in adult mental health, a university counseling service, perinatal mental health and with private companies.
Couples Therapy
I will work with you to help you to gain a better understanding of one another and improve your communication. We will do this by exploring how you each function in relatiosnhips, the assumptions you can each make about the other, how you each manage emotion and how this can be understood within the context of your expereinces, particualry in the earlier parts of your lives.
Support for your relatiosnhip with your baby and transitioning to parenthood
We often hear how wonderful pregnancy and becoming a parent can be, what can be harder to talk about are the fears and uncertainties. These are normal feelings but can feel overwhelming. I support expectant parents, mothers, fathers and carers, individually, as a couple and with your children. I offer help by thinking with you about what you are experiencing and how you manage emotion. We will notice how you interact with and are affected by each other, including your baby. We will place these patterns within the context of your whole life, to bring understanding.
