Hail the Best scaffolding firm, in the business, I have come across, as a London landlady, or the daughter of one/non-practising barrister, or as former Organising Secretary of Islington Conservatives, in 45 years, or like the pencil, “sharp and to the point”, HB Scaffolding Ltd of E15 Stratford, [not to be confused with HB Scaffolding Services Ltd]. Very fair rates, which Geoff Hall offers to match. I contacted 24 firms, mostly through Google, in the last few days and Geoff off Bark. He was a breath of fresh air and hungry for the work. Geoff and his co-director, Kenny, on site and their employee, Eddie, were most bright, pleasant and polite. Kenny and Eddie worked mighty hard, in the heat, from about 08:30 to 17:40. Eddie kept getting his tape measure out and thinking on his feet, to design the most useable and safe scaffolding. He has been doing this 10 years and is prepared to Work at 100 feet. Clearly very level headed and not on drugs, like many, sadly these days, the two went the extra two miles, to make sure everything was just right, such as the scaffold being tied in, to the building and my young, female tenants had no peeping Toms, by securing a metal scaffolding sheet, to the ladder with a chain and padlock wrapped around and double checked, after they were about to drive off, that he had left the keys, for the painter and decorator to access it, soon. Well worth the £1,100 + VAT for the front and L shaped back of a two/three storey house in Hackney and preserving the lives of my father and son team of builders from Jamaica, or South London, or falling and getting early onset dementia. GH replied very quickly. They fitted us in quickly (last Friday). By Tuesday we got the certificate and managed to book in adjusting so for this Thursday but they came out yesterday and made the adjustments so we were able start work as well.
There has been a lot of communication via messages, there are too many for me to add to the review etc.
As we have had the scaffolding installed last Friday and our four week timer has started we I trying to get all the work completed with in 2/3 weeks so we get the scaffolding removed earlier hopefully if weather permits.
