Hawkes Home Styling

I commissioned Julie Hawkes in September to complete the redecoration of our three reception rooms as well as our hall, landing and stairs. The mandate was to design, organise and manage the project completely including supply of materials and allocation of craftsmen. In addition I requested that all arrangements were made for me rather than be involved myself and that all works would be completed prior to Christmas.
Julie then consulted with my wife and me to work out finer details and worked out a schedule of works commencing on the 5th November.
The total work was budgeted and included re-plastering of all ceilings as well as choosing wallpaper and paint, light fittings and fine detail down to even new door handles. She supported us in the colour schemes, media planning and furniture arrangements - all as suggestions using her professional experience.
All work was carried out on schedule with any issues sorted out smoothly with Julie 's personal involvement. In particular the decorating was carried out by John to a very high standard. His preparation work was meticulous and he took time to get things done properly. He could also turn his hand to various other repairs that were requested outside the project parameters to our delight.
The entire job was completed on time so that our family Christmas could be enjoyed without the stress of ongoing work! Thank you Julie and team for an excellent job! More...

Julie was very attentive right from the start. She was able to find exactly the media wall we wanted. She also introduced us to a great carpenter who was extremely professional & did a great clean job.

We were stuck for ideas to redecorate our L shaped living / dining room that had no focal point and was described as 'neutral'. We had lived with the same decor for 20 years and wanted something different.

We met with Julie and discussed some ideas. She suggested quite a few things that we had not thought of, including a media unit, built in cupboards and under stairs cupboards. She produced floor plans and put some ideas for colours and styles on a mood board. She had trades contacts which was very helpful as we had plastering, carpentry, electrics and decorating to be done. This really saved a lot of time in terms of getting quotes and trades to visit. Julie put together a plan of works and contacted each trade with the dates. All went smoothly and work was completed on time and professionally.

It was a different experience using a designer and stylist, and
she did challenge us on one or two things. Although we didn't take up every suggestion, we did feel Julie listened and responded thoughtfully to our requirements. More...

Julie is very helpful and willing. She gave us lots of options particularly in colours and used technology to explore wider options in layouts.
