What do you love most about your job?
The thing I love most about my job are the plants and their ability to bring people of all walks of life together.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Due to family commitments we decided to move back to Devon where we have spent many years and where we trained in Horticulture. We have been mulling the idea of starting up for a few years and with the change in circumstance came the opportunity to bring the idea to fruition.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are a knowledgable partnership with many years of experience working with plants. We understand that timing is key in their care and have an understanding of the pruning, training and management techniques that will keep them looking their best for many years to come. We feel that these skills aren't represented as much as they could be in the domestic horticultural scene and hope to bring clients the plant care they are after.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
As outdoor workers we are generally in a safe environment for distanced face to face discussion should the client request this and any other contact can be via telephone, email, or messaging to eliminate close contact.
Garden maintenance
We have many years experience looking after plants across diverse and varied garden environments. We offer pruning and training for shrubs, climbers, and roses and feeding regimes to give them a boost when needed. We can also formatively prune young trees where needed to help them develop into great mature specimens.
We have extensive herbaceous border experience and can keep your borders looking great with regular maintenance tasks such as lifting and dividing, supporting, deadheading, cutting back, "Chelsea chopping" to give varying heights and to delay flowering and of course weeding! We can establish new borders if desired to create more planting opportunities. We can offer advice on different mulches for your garden borders which will help suppress weed growth, naturally feed and condition your soil, reduce stress at the root zone and provide a decorative foil to show your plants off to their best.
We have experience working with ponds and pond plants and can help maintain water spaces in the garden.
We are also more than happy to come and give your garden a blitz if you just want a quick tidy up.
We provide strimming and brush cutting services, as well as leaf blowing and collection. We also offer basic chainsaw crosscutting and groundwork. We have an RHS level 3 diploma in horticultural practice, PA1/PA6 spraying certification as well as LANTRA basic tree survey certification.
Consultation
We can help select the right plants for your garden. By profiling your soil we can then take into account garden aspects, topography and location to help select plants that will have a better opportunity to thrive, having been matched to these conditions. Through consultation we can provide you with a palette that will help to create your desired garden space.
