I had an unfortunate experience with this company simply because the two young men replacing this 50 ft garden fence were obviously under extreme time pressures to be at other locations to rectify problems with their previous work.
I should have been offered a written contract for this work as well as a site visit from the manager to confirm the exact nature of the job. In any event the agreed start date was postponed at short notice because one of the builders had forgotten that he had a driving lesson.
When work was started I presented them with a perfectly straight 3 ft high garden boundary wall which needed a new fence laid on top of it. I also explained that I had gone to great lengths to free an exotic bush away from the old fence so as to preserve and protect it.
Unfortunately I was unable to supervise the work after lunch time as I had to go to work but I asked my wife to be there. She discovered that the bush had been severely trampled and damaged and the last short fence panel had been erected shabbily with gaps in between the slats and loosely attached to the neighbour's fence so that it wobbled.
I contacted the manager in charge who apologised and said that there would be a return visit to rectify the fence panel.
Two days later I waited all day for the builders to arrive. I got a call the next day asking if he could cancel again because of bad weather. Two days later, again no one arrived and I called the manager to ask what was happening. The next day I had to leave for Spain so my daughter stayed in and received the builders who repaired the panel.
Seven days later I return to find that my neighbours are really unhappy with a wavy fence that does not follow a straight line and has clearly out of line concrete fence posts which are of different heights in relation to the fence panels.
Two days later the builders agreed to come back and straighten the fence.
Four days later I contact the manager expressing concern about the non arrival of the builders. Within minutes I get a call from the builders saying that they had been too busy with problems with other jobs to call me back but they agreed on a date to see me. Two days later this visit date is also cancelled and another date offered.
On arrival the builders met with me and my neighbours to discuss the minimum number of fence post adjustments that could be undertaken to straighten the fence and rectify the loosely fitted final panel. I had already agreed to pay for an extra fence post to be fitted to stabilise the other end of the fence.
Much to my surpriser the junior builder became rude and aggressive to my neighbours about their requests about moving some of the posts and at on point he was ordering them out of his work space and raising his voice.
With some difficult I was able to negotiate a settlement whereby only a few posts had to be repositioned. The fence is now much straighter but the final panel still has gaps in it and is still not securely attached at either end.
I reported these final events to George the manager who was most apologetic, particularly about the way my neighbours have been treated and I paid the outstanding balance of the £1800 bill.
I have also decided to source another builder to fix the remaining fence panel.
As a busy Consultant surgeon I really could have done without all this grief and inconvenience over such a straight forward job.

They overcame everything and the finished fence was superb.
They cleared away all rubbish and left the site clear.

We needed a fair price for an 8.5 metre run of stepped fencing along the width of our back garden at the back. Our dog had escaped through the original council boundary wall, damaged by ivy and storms, so this was an urgent job and George was very understanding of this when he quoted us and gave the day he could do the job.
He was friendly and accomodating of our tight budget but we didn't want to compromise on longevity of the fence either. He was very reassuring about everything and the two guys that came first to clear and prepare the ground, then complete the job were very quick and very thorough. We are very pleased with the results and it's actually inspired me to think more about the outdoor space and plants for the Spring again.
I can't recommend GG Solutions enough. They are a fab company with a fab team!
