What do you love most about your job?
I have had a passion for all things horticultural since my late teens. The things I love most about my chosen path is the creativity that this line of work allows. I also get to meet many people each day who have the shared interest. Working outside is always a bonus, plus being able to work on a variety of gardens each day means that each day is different. This then brings challenges and interest to my work.

What inspired you to start your own business?
To be completed....Ever since I was young I have wanted to start my own business so that I could follow my passions and enjoy the benefits and freedoms that that entails. My business partner and I created Eaden Consultancy approximately ten years ago and have since branched out into a number of areas which we continue to run. Creating the garden and grounds maintenance business six years ago was an easy decision for me as there was a clear gap in the market. The reason for this is that the industry has changed hugely over the past one hundred years and today horticulture no longer held in high regard. As such the emphasis on practical skills and quality education has been reduced. This has led to a knowledge and skills gap available to all garden owners who are expecting to pay for trusted advice and practical skills in this area. My garden business provides the skills and knowledge which is generally missing in the industry and by fulfilling this need has provided a satisfying operation for my partner and I.
Why should our clients choose you?
Gardens are a very personal space which reflect the individual tastes of the homeowner. They often act as a sanctuary from the outside world, as well as being a place linked to unique emotional ties - such as plants given from loved ones who may have passed on, or a resting place for family pets.
There is always a risk when you contract a tradesman and unfortunately there are many jobbing gardeners who do not have the knowledge or experience to meet clients expectations. Sadly we have often been brought in to take over a garden after the previous gardener has removed ornamental plants wrongly identified as weeds, or older clients who have taken advantage of by unscrupulous fraudsters.
Our gardeners are multi-award winning, highly qualified in their craft and all certificates are available on request. We are CRB checked and have public liability insurance. We are a trusted company, and the gardeners of choice for Age UK. Put simply, there are no other gardeners in the area who can match our knowledge or experience, and we are more than happy for our clients to put us to the test before they take us on. Unfortunately we do not as yet promote an horticultural or garden advisory service, but if there is a demand we will happily provide.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We always enquire as to whether any Covid-19 restrictions or procedures are in place for us to act on before we arrive. We are always happy to fit around our customers requirements and have a full range PPE available for our staff from bio hazard suits to passive respirators which we have as part of our inventory needed for our spraying contracts.

We mow, and edge lawns using high quality, commercial machinery as well as recutting borders if necessary, We can action lawn repairs and are licenced to apply a full range of lawn treatments such as pesticides, fungicides, moss-killers and fertilisers.
